Welcome to the Anime and Manga page!
You may not know but, I'm a big fan of Anime and Manga! It's some of my favorite media to explore!
But first let me give you a history lesson on how I got into contact with all of this.
It all goes back to a few years ago, as a stupid teenager doing stupid teenager stuff. I was looking at a… not very good website, that has an X on it's name(not the platform formerly known as Twitter )… yea, let's call it that. When I found a video that was a reupload of a… bad anime about a stony cat that shall not be named and forever banished to obscurity for being terrible in all possible ways. Regardless, I decided to look up that anime on google because the video was just one episode. It was at that moment, when my eyes were open to the world of anime.
I wasn't very picky with genres because due to everything being new to me, so I ended going crazy and watching a lot of… questionable stuff… which I'm not proud of. Nowadays I only despise one genre of anime, Ecchi, I just can't stand this genre.
But thankfully, over the years I found actually good and amazing anime that made a good impression on me. Let me tell you about a few in reversed alphabetical order:
- Steins;Gate
- SCHOOL-LIVE
- One Piece
- Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
- Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de
- Wonderful Precure
Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de gets a special badge for being the one of the first anime I watched that I don't despise today.
About manga, my experience with manga started because of a poorly made anime!
The anime I watched was such a disappointment, that I felt compelled to look through its sources. And I ended up discovering this whole new world of manga shortly after.
Unlike my anime experience however, I haven't read much manga that I despise in the present. Moreover, I have been reading more and more manga thanks to a Friend called Miya recommending great things! (Click on their name to check out their website!)
Let me tell you some of my favorite manga this time in a random order:
- Mata, Onaji Yume wo Miteita
- SCHOOL-LIVE
- Nick & Lever
- Getsuyoubi no Tomodachi
- SCHOOL ZONE GIRLS
- Yuru Yuri
- Kono Bijutsubu niwa Modai ga Aru!
As I said earlier, I'm not too picky with genres(except disliking ecchi.), so I read pretty much anything. But I do prefer ones with an ongoing story rather than being episodic.
So, now that you know my history with it, what's my absolute favorite genre?
That's a good question, my favorite genre of Anime and Manga is romantic comedy! The fun and jokes of a comedy based manga with the ongoing romance tying everything together with a nice bow is something I enjoy a lot.
That said, I think there's nothing else for me to say about this topic. Compared to video games, everything is still so new to me. But despite the rocky start, I have been enjoying the ride!
