I was leaving an apartment just as the sun was setting for the day, going for a little walk during the night, pointless walking is something I enjoy doing.
But something was happening, I kept seeing a small shadowy figure pass through people's legs really quickly, seemingly unnoticed. I wanted to know what it is, so as logic dictates, I began to chase and try to catch it!
It was hard moving around the many people walking while trying to close the distance, but I managed to get close enough to it and…
The shadowy figure suddenly stopped moving.
Almost like a switch was turned on and it became a statue, I was a bit surprised. But then it turned towards me, revealing itself…
It was a tiny deformed visage of a human with a cone shaped hat, very much like a duende of folklore legend.
Most important however, it noticed my presence and stared deep in my soul…
The staring contest didn't last long, a few seconds even, because the duende began dashes in the direction of traffic. For reasons I don't know, I continued to chase it in traffic as well, narrowly avoiding the cars as they pressed their honks in anger at my sudden actions.
The duende was so fast, I could barely reduce the distance, until we reached a turn in the road, the duende simply vanished in the 3 seconds he was out of my vision.
I tried asking a passerby if they saw this tiny humanoid creature run by and which direction it went, but the person simply continued walking, acting as if I was saying some complete nonsense not worth their time! That was very mean…
With some time to rest, I noticed that it was already night, and worst of all… I was completely lost.
The streets were starting to get empty, and it's dangerous to stay out when no one is around, luckily for me however, there was a small convenience store close by with people inside. I asked the people inside where I was and where I needed to go to get back home.
But everyone gave nonsensical and absurd answers to my questions that left me with more doubt than answer.
I didn't want to leave empty handed so I looked around and grabbed one bar of chocolate to buy it at the counter.
But as soon as I did, the lights turned red and everyone at the store began to stare at me with these angry looks…
They would track my every movement… almost like they were cameras with motion trackers.
I put the chocolate bar back in place and quickly fled the scene, I was so scared…
During my flee, they continued to track me, and even now outside, the lights are still red.
With no other options, I continued to walk aimlessly for a long time alone at night…
POST DREAM COMMENTARY
And that's where the dream comes to an end!
For the first time a dream that doesn't end in a dramatic fashion, kind of weird isn't it?
Regardless, this dream features a creature called a Duende, you could say they are similar to gnomes albeit more mischievous. For the reason of its appearance, at the time I was watching a lot of stream VODs from Jabroni Mike, and a popular community meme during that time was the concept of the Duende, the way he talked about it was also very funny so I began to talk about duendes to my friends.
I assume that's why it showed up in my dreams, as for the convenience store moment… I have no idea why that happened.
