Helo!

Sorry but there won't be a blog during this day!

I'm not really in a good mindset to write this one. So all the topics that were going to be in this one, will be pushed for November.

Right now, I need to focus on shutting up, and focusing on the things I planned. For better and worse!

Apologies for the let down and see you next month, Internet Traveler!

Helo!

My brain is a bit mushy this time around, so today's blog will be on the smaller side!

Today's Features are: Vampire Survivors And Kingdom Rush 5: Wukong's Journey!

Spoilers for those topics!

Let's begin!

WEBSITE UPDATES

Phoenix Club 1st Drafts Almost Over!

That's right, the first drafts are gonna be finished this week, finally!

Currently, I'm writing the final chapter of this batch. I'm having a little trouble writing it, but things are going. After I'm done writing, I'll check for small mistakes and changes and pass everything off to my editor for them to read through everything and then we improve/ rewrite everything on a chapter by chapter basis.

The chapters are still moderately distant from release. If I were to classify the current stage of development, I would say we are midway through the cycle! In terms of difficult workload at least.

Here's the %s:

First Drafts - 92% Done

Final Draft - 0% Done

Corrections - 0% Done

Preparations For Release - 1% Done

Progress So Far - 23.25%

As for other website news, I don't have anything to share. Writing takes a lot of the brain power already~

No drawing today as well, my brain was too fried to make one. Sorry!

LIFE UPDATES

Megabonk Completed!

I’m finally free of addiction…

I managed to get all the achievements for the game!

Well, the important ones at least. I don’t wanna do the challenges, I think they are rather annoying. Getting the chaos tome one was already annoying enough.

Tho, as a self imposed challenge, I wanna try and beat the game with all the characters at least once. I think that would be fun.

Either way, the game is super addictive still. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this game. I really want to see some kind of multiplayer mode too, this game would go so hard in multiplayer.

I couldn't get a run off the ground for this screenshot...

Surviving Vampires!

Yes, this is a direct result of Megabonk.

I decided to return to Vampire Survivors after the previous game. Simply because I was in that type of mood!

I remembered very little of this game, so I just decided to erase the save file I had and start completely fresh. With all the DLCs installed of course!

And yeah, if you played this game before, you know how addictive the gameplay loop of killing millions of enemies and leveling up is. Evolving weapons too, that is always satisfying.

Big ball of bones.

That system is something I like from this game that doesn't exist in Megabonk. If you have a specific weapon and an item, you can evolve that weapon to something much stronger! I like this system because it encourages me to use weapons/ items I never really go for just to get that evolution. While in Megabonk, I just stuck with what worked most of the time.

Not to say that it NEEDS to have an evolution system, I think the chest and items mechanic of that game do enough already.

Oh yeah, the OST gets a special highlight from me. They did not need to go this hard on some of these tracks man. I can’t wait to see the ones from Ode to Castlevania have to offer!

I completely forgot about this crossover, so this was a jumpscare to me.

I’m having fun going for unlocks and just trying to 100% this game as well.

Wukong’s Journey!

In Kingdom Rush Alliance!

This is probably the best DLC they ever made of these games.

You have unique enemies and mechanics, new tower and hero that bring a different playstyle to the mix and beautiful art and music!

Fire dragon controlled by a malding baby.

The new hero is a brawler/ assassin type, so, get in, kill and get out! His main source of power is his insta-kill, so you gotta use it wisely during the campaign to alleviate the pressure the enemies put.

While the new tower is a unique take on barracks, because they have units that can’t die! Well, they do still die, but when that happens, they return to the tower and do some ranged attacks before returning back to the battlefield with full hp. That means, it’s a barracks tower with zero downtime!

These two newcomers are sorely needed for the new strong foes you are going to face in this DLC. All the enemies pack a lot of punch with their unique gimmicks and a lot of them leave DOT on the ground on death. So you need something that can adapt to whatever situation on the fly, while taking care of the bigger threats in the back of the wave. The enemies and stages you need to look out for!

For me, the biggest highlight was the complete stage changes this DLC pulled. The first stage is an example of this:

Before the fire meteors.

As the waves go on, huge fireballs will form from the sky and burn a new path for enemies to utilize. Forcing you to change up the strategy a bit to adapt to this new situation. It was quite fun!

After the fire meteors.

And one last thing worthy of praise, I like that the story of the DLC directly affects the stages. The story is usually sidelined in these games for the gameplay, which is fair, but what the characters are doing in the story show up in the stages on this one! And I love that!

This is the best DLC they have made, 100%... true shame that a lot of people will never get to play this, because Tower Defense as a genre is not really popular. Well, aside from BTD 6, I suppose.

Also, I tried playing their new PVP game for mobile devices… It sucks. Mobile Clash Royale junk type of thing. Despite having cool ideas for a PVP Tower Defense game, the game is plagued with microtransactions and pay to win mechanics.

Uninstalled after 30 minutes.

Lighting Game Rounds!

To close out this segment, here’s a few games I have been playing that I don’t have too much to say!

Modded Lethal Company: Playing friend spooky games with tons of funny mods is always fun. Here’s a funny clip I got of a classic moment in this game:

Second Stellar (Demo): This game is a roguelike game with inspirations of Vampire Survivors. The main mechanic of the game is that you play as two different characters, and you can swap between the two anytime you want!

You pick a weapon for each character, each level gives you the choice to get extra accessories and your objective is to get strong enough to fight the final boss! It’s a bit rough around the edges (the game is still in alpha), but I see the potential!

Go give it a try!

Did you know the developer makes mods for Terraria?

Dungeon Village 2: Kairosoft games have a soft spot in my heart, I have been playing them ever since I was a child. They are all these management games with a charming art style and fun gameplay. This one in particular, you are managing a village full of adventures that fight enemies just outside of it! Make sure they are well equipped to fight the monster while making a profit and exploring dungeons to find stronger tools, that’s the key to success!

Bosses when they spawn on a Dungeon Village 2.

Sonic Heroes: …

The video does not have audio.

SONG OF THE DAY

Cosmic Delight by Daniele Zandara!

Vampire Survivors has a surprisingly awesome soundtrack, so I decided to take this one that really surprised me at first!

And that’s everything for today!

See you next time, Internet Traveller!

Have a nice day!

Helo!

The month of spookles has arrived!

Fun fact, Halloween is the most fun day and there is no competition. This is an objective fact, but also fun!

Today's Features are: Celeste, Megabonk And Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance!

Spoilers for those topics!

Let's begin!

WEBSITE UPDATES

Phoenix Club Continues!

You know the drill, I’m still working on it.

Chapters 10 to 13 have their first draft fully completed. So there’s just 2 chapters left to write, the lead up to the climax, the climax itself and short ending.

I still had a lot of struggle with chapter 12 and 13, the notes and ideas I wrote down did not really help me. I had everything on my table, but the way I connected all the elements and pushed the narrative was just not working. So on their first drafts, I just restructured everything from scratch, on the fly. It was pretty tough but I managed to keep a through line that made sense and it's kinda convenient for the plot at some points, but it’s fine overall.

It’s funny though, my notes are very different from the first result.

Anyway, enough rambling about stuff I’m intentionally keeping somewhat vague to not spoil anything! Here’s the nice progress numbers:

First Drafts - 70% Done

Final Draft - 0% Done

Corrections - 0% Done

Preparations For Release - 1% Done

Progress So Far - ~17.75%

(The 1% is confirming one of the artists that will work on the social media post art, I still have no clear idea on what they are gonna draw LOL!)

My projected release date for these chapters is late November to early December, but we will see. I’m notoriously bad at setting dates and having things happen on those dates.

Anyhow, for other website news, the website turned 3 years old not long ago! I made an extra blog post talking about, you can check it out on the side bar there! Or Clicking Here!

Aside from that, I added a new custom button filter and did the usual maintenance.

That’s about it, here’s the Pudd of the day:

Pudd defends the mountain tower with hammers!

LIFE UPDATES

Peak Of A Mountain!

I beat Celeste!

And I liked it.

The game has a nice story about someone accepting yourself for who you really are and not trying to erase the parts that make you You. I also really enjoyed the cool concepts and subtle analogies of this kind of struggle.

You will accept yourself NOW!

First we got the whole thing of climbing a mountain, as a representation of the work that it's going to take to do that. Or the fall back to the start, as you are having struggles and sometimes falling back to the start. I really like that.

Collecting strawberries was very fun for me, but I decided to not go for all of them. My approach was: If I get annoyed trying to collect one, I would just move on.

So I ended up collecting like, 120 of them? I think that’s pretty good.

That’s not a strawberry?

I also did two 2 b-sides while being held at gun point by Miya, because they wanted me to see chapter 9, which we also did. They were a bit annoying honestly. I had fun at a few points, but when the game told me “Perform this perfectly or you die”, I would just get annoyed.

That’s not to say I don’t like hard games, I just prefer ones where you have more options and more freedom instead of simpler mechanics that you have to execute well.

Celeste is a very good game even if I won’t see or engage with all the other content it has to offer (Sorry Miya), I still had fun!

MEGA ADDICTION!

To Megabonk!

I’m sure you heard about this game already. Yes, I also got addicted to it…

For the past few days, I have been playing this almost religiously on the Steam Deck.

Rocking conversation.

This game is a terrifying mix of Vampire Survivors and Risk of Rain 2, and by terrifying, I mean too addictive!

You have the already far too engaging formula of the first game + the movement mechanics and 3D environment where you hunt for your loot while dodging enemies of the second game. This mix makes for an extremely addictive game…

It also runs perfectly on the deck, to the dismay of my free time.

Here’s me fighting the final boss.

I absolutely recommend this one for anyone looking for something to just sink many hours into, it’s very fun just unlocking stuff and going as far as you can.

The only thing I want to see in the future for this game is a multiplayer mode. Imagine playing it with friends, it would be awesome!

First person bonking.

Replacing Towers One Year Later!

Me replaying Kingdom Rush 5:Alliance!

Yes, I’m replaying the entire game to then play the newest DLC!

It’s something I like to do in this franchise, they have such replayable games! I can’t even count how many times I played through the original trilogy.

Anyway, the game is still as fun as ever. The stages and enemies are interesting to fight against, there’s fun gimmicks to mess around and using two heroes at the same time is still super engaging.

This screenshot is actually from last year, I forgot to take any during my gaming.

But my opinions did change since I last played it. Towards the last third of the game, I think the stage mechanics and some of the layouts in that area are more annoying than fun. Replaying through that was not very good. The content post launch tho, that still slaps really hard! (Aside from the final boss of the Ancient Hunger stages, the way they changed the tower destruction mechanic was kind of unfun.)

I love this game, like all in this franchise! They are all amazing games! I can’t wait to play the new DLC, I heard it’s a pretty good one.

Fun party!

SONG OF THE DAY

The Hot Wind Is Blowing by Jamie Christopherson!

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance has an amazing OST, you know about that already. But it’s really hard to pick a favorite man!

I’m usually bouncing between this song and It Has To Be This Way, but I ended up deciding to pick this one because I just feel more hyped up. Not to dismiss the other, that one also slaps REALLY hard!

And that’s about everything I wanted to talk about!

I didn’t make any plans this month since I’ll be so busy doing Phoenix Club stuff. Writing is hard man… but very fun!

See you next time, Internet Traveller!

Have a nice day!
