Helo!
Man, we are less than 40 days away from the end of the year…
I-I don’t want to think about that!!
Instead, I need to think about this blog update and brace myself for the horrors next month with work!
Today's Features are: Sonic Journey, Null Meta and Risk of Rain 2: Alloy Collective!
Spoilers for those topics!
Let's begin!
Phoenix Club Is Rapidly Approaching!
It’s pretty much at the final stages of development!
The last thing I need to do is the second half of chapter 15, after that, all the writing stuff will be done!
It would’ve been finished by now, but my poor sleeping schedule last week sabotaged my writing capabilities… (the bad sleep was all my fault as well.)
But anyway, here’s the progress so far:
First Drafts - 100% - Completed
Final Draft - ~85% Done
Corrections - 66% Done
Preparations For Release - 50% Done
Progress So Far - 75.25%
After finishing the final draft and going through the corrections, everything is going to be easy peasy!
It's pretty much busy work, some graphics and 3 drawings from our local artist named Miya!
Oh yeah, one bit of unfortunate news, in August I was doing a custom character mod for Castle Crashers in the theme of the Phoenix Quest Knight. I tried my best doing the drawings, but I couldn't get it to feel right. Not skilled enough to do those drawings…
That and the changes I want to do with the design of the Knight made me scrap this idea.
Sad news but it happens.
Websiting!
Being sleep deprived might affect my ability to write, but it doesn’t stop me from webdeving!
There's a new secret theme for the home page, this one themed around the dream dairy pages. With another secret theme on the works right now!
I also made some minor adjustments to the position of these secret toggles on the home page, now secrets won’t compete for space with the seasonal themes.
I also updated a bunch of the filter buttons above! Bunch of the “series” ones got images and they look cool!
And that’s about all that changed on the website.
Here's today's Pudd:
Pudd copied a certain android!
Null Meta
Made by Kokamumo!
Synopsis: Kurumi, the dumb android.
Chiaki, her guardian with a few screws loose.
Sakina, calm, composed, and easily amused.
Shiyuki, the only sane(?) girl.
Follow their exciting high school life as they tinker with and pamper Kurumi, as well as talk about nothing in particular.
(Source Mangadex… I think? I couldn’t find the original…)
Miya begged on her knees for a long time for me to read this manga… and it was a pretty good recommendation. I just never got around to reading it because I don’t really like to read 4-komas. The lack of panel diversity makes it feel monotonous for me… which surprisingly isn't a problem on this one!
Every now and then the author will shake things up by changing the rigid structure or making just 4 wide panels on a page, which definitely made for a much fun read for me. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
This manga is the usual episodic comedy with a funny cast of characters, but what makes it unique from the others out there is the fact that it’s written in a pretty modern way.
Characters talk to each other like an actual group of friends nowadays, full of sudden reactions and laughing that feel pretty natural… I’m struggling a bit to describe exactly what it is, but I have the perfect phrase for it!
“It’s like the characters feel like millennials, but not in the obnoxious way, they are actually funny!”
Oh, the side cast is also just as fun as the main characters, so that’s a plus. I also love the art style, it’s honestly iconic and does a great job on making the jokes land, as well as being pleasing to the eyes.
This summs it up pretty well.
The only criticism I have of the manga is that volume 1 & 2 are filled with these “unfunny” jokes where the punchline is just “haha, it’s lewd!” or it’s something ecchi. These jokes just never land and are always awkward. They can be under the right circumstances, but they mostly miss here.
Thankfully, these jokes are phased/ used in much better ways on future volumes! Like, they are actually super funny!
Score: 4/5! This is a great and hilarious manga, but I have to tick down a point for those 2 first volumes. Go check it out regardless!
Not Close to the Final Fantasy (XVI)
I'm like, 70% sure that I'm halfway through Final Fantasy XVI. It’s hard to tell though, every boss in this game has that “Final Boss” energy and hype behind it. That’s not a bad thing btw!
The fight against Titan Lost was freaking awesome! During these climatic and cool moments, you can always just sit back and enjoy the cinematic flair Square Enix has. Even the experimental OST during the fight was great!
My game crashing right at the end and forcing me to redo all of it again wasn’t as fun however…
Rock Block!
Oh, I also like the titan set of abilities too! The rock parry is so satisfying to land and the follow-up feels powerful. I often find myself just not attacking and just parrying the enemy over and over again until they die. It's quite fun!
My only complaint with the game so far is… well the framerates. This game just refuses to run at a stable framerate, even with the DLSS nonsense! I have a pretty good PC, but even then, the main hub world just constantly falls off a cliff anytime I walk around…
Still, beautiful game.
But yeah, I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!
Sonic Journey (Sponsored by Miya)
Shadow The Hedgehog
What a… strange game this is.
The reputation of trying to be the most edgy as possible game ever was certainly… a choice? I can’t say I fully hate the game tho.
This is one of those types of games where the core experience is short, but highly replayable. Do different things during a stage and you can achieve a different ending, that kind of thing, and it’s pulled off decently well… the idea is at least, but we will get to that.
Wait, Sonic is in this??
Shadow controls surprisingly well considering the previous 3D games I played. Of course there is some jank with sometimes gaining enormous amounts of speed out of nowhere and flying off, but those are rare moments. The thing I like the most is the changes to the holming attack. Now, when there are no enemies to target, it’s a quick and consistent way to just get some distance forward while in the air! I think previous games had this sorta air dash forward thing, but they were hardly noticeable or useful, still, great change! Now all you guys need is to add the targets to the enemies, so we actually know when it will connect, instead of praying it does.
Oh, guns feel fine I guess… there’s not much depth on them and they are awkward to use.
The OST is solid, the graphics are good, the presentation and cutscenes are well acted and engaging. I would say there is a lot to like in this… but one thing brings the whole experience down: THE OBJECTIVES!
Eggman loves gambling too?
All stages up to 3 objectives you can tackle, which decide what stage you are playing next.
The ones where you just need to get to the end of a stage are fun, the ones that aren’t… make the experience horrifically terrible.
This game has the Chaotix problem from Heroes but amplified to the maximum. They are not forgiving at all! Not in a hard, more of an annoying way!
For example, the very first stage: To follow the dark path, you need to kill EXACTLY all the soldiers in the stage. Missed one? Welp, tough luck buddy! Use the checkpoint teleporter and go find it lol! We are not gonna give you any clues to where it is!
This completely kills the pace of stages and is a complete chore. Stages become 2x or sometimes even 3x longer because you need to check every corner for what you are looking for, which is not good on a game from the SONIC franchise. The stages are also too long, this has been a consistent problem since Heroes, they are large but have very little of substance.
This stage SUCKED!
For the record, I played the game through the normal, hero and dark routes, the only one I had fun with was the normal. Because I just played normally and did none of the objective nonsense.
This game had the potential to be fun and cool, but this single design decision drags it all down.
Eggman looked in for this fight!
Next time, hopefully Sonic Team will manage their projects and ambitions better so that we get a more focused and great experience, rather than a huge but lackluster mess…
Hm? Why are people laughing at that sentence??
Anyway, here’s how the list is right now:
Gold means beaten since last time.
The Alloy Collective DLC Is Here!
OH GOD, GEARBOX MADE ANOTHER DLC FOR RISK OF RAIN 2!
AND ITS- ITS… actually good on launch??
The devs had a lot to prove to the fanbase since the terrible launch of Seekers of the Storm was still fresh in everyone’s mind. (To be fair, they did fix a lot that was wrong with and made it actually good but nothing excuses a terrible launch.)
And I can say, with 100% certainty that they knocked this one out of the park!
So many far away, shield threats!
This DLC is polished to god damn near perfection! We have new beautiful stages, epic new bosses, fun new survivors, items with unique mechanics, enemies that also have unique mechanics and even new… mechanics to play around! Heck, OST is a banger too!
Not only that, they also improved things that were a low point in the base game, such as the drone AI and just adding more of them.
I’m really enjoying all the content it has to offer, especially the new boss. You fight him in this massive arena where you need to actually move around to dodge and do stuff, it’s lots of fun!
The only small complaint I have is that the enemies feel a little too tanky, but it’s no major problem.
Love this new boss fight!
Great DLC, I’m so happy to say that we are so back!
Jinkanga Nai by KIRINJI!
(Guestbook recommendation by Josie!)
I really love this groovy song!
It's a shame that the original music video was deleted, I find the office worker absolutely killing on the dance floor very amusing. Thankfully, we have many reuploads of it, so we will never forget about S A L A R Y W A V E!
...
I heard too many bangers this time around, so why not do a second Song of the Day on the same day?
A Torrent That Can’t Be Downloaded by Stavros Markonis!
Stavros had big shoes to fill when they took up the challenge to match the base game OST made by Chris… and I can say with 100% certainty that they pulled it off!
The new music from Alloyed Collective was amazing, and dare I say, even surpass some of the tracks from the base game!
In particular, this new teleporter boss is just fantastic.
And that’s everything for today.
Despite my wishes to finish Final Fantasy XVI this month, I only managed to get half way through…
Oh well, guess I'm finishing it in December!
See you next month, Internet Traveller!
Have a nice day!
15/11/2025
Helo!
Time for the usual midmonth blog update!
Today's Features are: Final Fantasy XVI and Vampire Survivors!
Spoilers for those topics!
Let's begin!
Phoenix Club is Almost There!
Two more final drafts down, just two more to do!
Chapters 10 to 13 have gotten their final draft, now it’s just 14 and 15 left to do.
I also changed my plans about corrections, I am doing them as my editor finishes them. We changed the way we do corrections, to a much more convenient method for the both of us. So things move a lot faster now!
Anyway, here’s the % of everything so far:
First Drafts - 100% - Completed
Final Draft - ~66% Done
Corrections - 50% Done
Preparations For Release - 45% Done
Progress So Far - 65,25%
And by the look of things, I'm going to be meeting my deadline!
Other news, it’s just the usual. Maintenance and all that stuff.
By the way, I forgot to show last time what I did to my bootleg fuwa Miku for halloween, so here it is:
Very spooky Miku!
Here's the drawing I made for today as well:
The Final Game Expansion?
Final Fantasy XVI has thrown me so many curve balls.
At 2 different points of the story, I was like “Okay, this is the moment where it opens up and allows me to do many things”, only for the game to open EVEN MORE and expand the scope of the story! Things are much more elaborate than before, it’s a bit overwhelming… so the features they added to the story archive and relation board are very appreciated by me.
Good to have friends back too!
Something else I also learned is that this game does not hold back. There was a boss with this rock guy that hits like a truck and punches really fast. My overconfidence made me go into the fight with very little healing supplies, thinking, “I can win this easy!”
… at the final 10% hp of the boss, I was on my last legs, and now I was forced to lock the heck in to win.
Unrelated epic finisher timer.
Making risky moves, performing 3 consecutive doges many times and weaving attacks in-between those moments, I managed to defeat the boss just as he was about to hit me. I popped off a bit after this, it was a gamer move.
All thanks to Silksong, that game unironically made me better at video games and gave me a good idea on how to face tough challenges. Treating them like a dance, waiting for my turn to do my part and hitting some attacks while I’m dancing and dodging.
Coordinated magic!
Anyway, I’m really enjoying this game!
THE VAMPIRE EXISTS!
In Vampire Survivors!
The Ode to Castlevania DLC really is… an ode to Castlevania…
Brought some many new mechanics, a bunch of new characters, a lot of banger music tracks and a massive new stage!
Storming the castle as vanias!
This, by itself, is already a lot for a DLC that costs just a few bucks, so imagine my shock after the moment I picked Richter, climbing up Dracula’s castle and faced him at the throne room. Seeing the game simply DOUBLE in size, right in front of me… I’m not even going to spoil what happened when I did all those things either. That whole sequence was just a very special moment, even for me, a person that never played Castlevania games!
I really want to engage in a theoretical Castlevania journey in the future. This DLC is making me wanna do that…
Storming futher and faster!
Getting Better At The Locking And Not Deading!
Pretty much as the title said, I’m getting slightly better at Deadlock.
Bebop has become my go to hero for this game, I just love how much skill expression he has to offer and how much disruption he can cause to others.
My favorite part of his kit of abilities is 100% the hook. Punishing confident players by hooking them into a tough position, or into my team or just to save an ally, just never stops being satisfying!
Bomb and uppercut are also great to seal the deal, but landing an incredible hook is just the best feeling in the world. It has such a powerful and impactful sound when you land it~
I look so cool in this.
My go to builds are either bomb or ultimate bebop, just depending on the match up. If there’s a lot of people who can I-frame my bombs, I go ultimate and kill them from above with my massive laser, if not, I just go around the map terrorising others.
But the reason why I got better at the game is because this character requires a lot of good position and movement around the map to do well. So basically I was forced to get more familiar with the cool things you can do in this game by playing him!
I’m not amazing at it, but I can pull off some cool movements from time to time.
Unrelated gameplay of me playing Seven and trying to farm as much as possible in a bot match.
Despite everything I said, I think I’ll stop playing the game until the next big update. All my recent matches have been abysmal stomps and I’m 100% sure that the rank I am is not correct, which sucks cause I never wanted to have a rank. Just wanted to play against people of my same level. I’m pretty sure only the people who live and breathe this game are playing it at the moment, so that makes me less motivated.
More Reflourishing!
Just another quick segment to talk about this amazing PVZ 2 mod that you can DOWNLOAD RIGHT NOW FOR FREE and experience this game the way it should’ve been intended to.
None of that microtransaction bs, no arenas, no plant leveling, NONE OF THAT!
Just a pure fun game made me people who really care for what they are making~
I just recently finished all the original base game content with the end of modern day act 2, next up is all the new content from the mod!
Also, since last time, I discovered even more food costumes! These costumes just don’t miss man!
Frozen footage of the first new mod level of Modern Day!
Team Chaotix from Sonic Heroes!
This song is actually impossibly good for that game! This was the one track I was actually jumpscared by when it was played in game, and of course, started jamming right after that. The chorus is addictive and hits real hard.
And that’s it for today.
A short little blog to compensate for the massive one that I made 10 days ago.
See you next time, Internet Traveller!
Have a nice day!
05/11/2025
Helo!
Hopefully everyone had an awesome Halloween!
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to eat any candy or commemorate fully, I was too busy. But hey, that’s how things go sometimes.
Talking about busy, let’s get into this huge blog update!
Today's Features are: Ise-san to Shima-san, Final Fantasy XVI And Sonic Journey!
Spoilers for those topics!
Let's begin!
Phoenix Club Progress!
All chapters first drafts are done and have been reviewed by the editor! (By the way, she just updated their blog on Mimiya, you should check it out!)
A lot of work is being done to turn them into the final drafts, you know, first drafts being a more raw and rough vision of the story. But I’m working on them! I have finished 2 final drafts already!
After this is done, I’ll pass it off to the editor to correct typos and all that stuff, and after that, come the release! I have a deadline so that is going to encourage me to work harder.
Anyway, here’s the % of everything so far:
First Drafts - 100% - Completed
Final Draft - ~33% Done
Corrections - 0% Done
Preparations For Release - 45% Done
Progress So Far - 44.5%
The preparation section is halfway done. It included a small rewrite and changes to the index page, commissioning the artist for the social media posts and all that. I don't want Miya to do all the work, so I commissioned 3 artists to do 3 of them! I already received the results of 2 of them, and I can't wait to show them!
Not right though, you will have to contend with my sketch versions for now:
The final product is much better!
And that sums up everything related to Phoenix Club. As for other website news, I added 4 new custom filter buttons and did the usual maintenance stuff. Oh, and I also exorcised the ghost in the main page, she will only return next year.
That’s all for this segment, have a Pudd I drew:
Ise-san to Shima-san
Made by Tokuwotsumu!
Synopsis: Ise and Shima, both in their fourth year of working, are sharing a room. In order to escape their boring lives, they decide to "challenge" each other every month to do various things. It can be trivial things such as “Waking Up Early” or as complex as “Fall In Love”, but these always bring fun to the days they spend together.
(Modified Source: Mangadex)
It's pretty much as the synopsis says, this is a slice of life manga about two women spending their days together doing challenges to make their days more fun. While learning and enjoying their time together, it is as simple as that!
There’s a big touch of romance in this story that develops in a pretty interesting way. I won't spoil why, but I quite like how things unfold as the story goes on. The challenges are good as well, it’s a natural incentive for the characters to engage with out of the ordinary activities.
The thing I like the most though is artstyle though! I don’t know how to describe this, but it has this realistic touch to the usual manga style. You can see what I mean by how the artist draws the characters' noses.
Takes a bit to get used to but I find it a very good style, especially during the more goofier drawings.
Score: 5/5! Super enjoyable, I recommend it!
Not Quite The Final RPG!
Final Fantasy XVI (16), this is one of the big RPGs from my list of 4 I wanted to play this year.
I got the urge to play it after hearing “Find the Flame” for the first time on a Tekken crossover trailer in The Game Award last year! (Yeah, that’s all it took!)
and so, a year and a half later, I played! …The reason why it took so long to get to was because of the many must play surprises this year! Why did we have to get Silksong and Deltarune the same year!!!
Anyways, this game is a lot of fun.
That doesn't look very fair...
It’s the first action RPG I have played in a long time and I enjoy the rather simple combat system it has. You get your basic attack and magic button that can make combos, charge versions of them, dodge button, items on the d-pad (+ a dog assistant) and special move that changes according to the many elements you are aligned with. Oh, and also, you got multiple powerful spells that you can use mid combo as finishers, which also change according to your element. Did I mention you can also change elements on the fly and string crazy combos together?
Okay, it sounds like a lot, but it’s pretty easy and intuitive to use and do well!
Ready to fight!
Being a RPG, one of the most important parts is the story, and I’m happy to say that I’m invested!
Clive, our protagonist, is a person with magical powers that lives in a world where these types of people aren’t seen as humans, but something lesser. Multiple times, the game tells and shows the abuse these people suffer because of this stigma, including towards our protagonist.
With the protagonist and setting set, the main premise is Clive, and his allies, trying to overcome this stigma, so they can build a world where they are also seen as human. As well as destroying these crystals that give them powers, because they are consuming the world and turning life into stone. Which all the kingdoms use for power and energy, fighting constant wars for land not petrified.
It’s a dark and gritty story, but not entirely hopeless. Many show opposition to the current status quo and silently fight in the background to oppose it. There is a heart beating in this story!
Beautiful fantasy world too.
Clive is also a compelling protagonist, but I won’t spoil why. I’ll just say that he has some demons of his own to fight before he helps the world. And when he does fight them, is THE moment where Find the Flame plays.
Hearing that song for long without the context, and then finally listening to it in game made me so giddy and really solidified that I really enjoy this game.
Not to say I wasn’t enjoying it before that moment, it just made me more invested!
Very fire fight!
It’s a long game, but I hope to knock this one out during November!
Sonic Journey (Sponsored by Miya)
Sonic Heroes…
Man, what to say about this game…
I played through all the 4 campaigns they had to offer and I’ll just summarize my thoughts of each here.
Team Sonic - It’s the standard, first thing you play and it’s fun. There’s some bad stages here and there but it’s fun.
Team Dark - This is the “Hard” mode of the game, which doesn’t really mean anything if I’m going to be honest. Levels are just longer and more tedious to go through because they hit the same beats as the Sonic Team ones.
Team Rose - The “Easy”, tutorial mode that for some reason is placed 3rd in the list?? It at least had short but fun levels to go through.
Team Chaotix - This is a unique one, instead of going from point A to point B, you instead have to do specific objectives through a stage. Such as, kill X amount of enemies or find X amount of things. While there are some fun ones here, this is not something that should be a requirement to beat a stage in a Sonic game…
Happy friends forever!
Sonic Heroes is fun, but a lot of that fun is tainted by something far worse than bad level design, it’s a buggy MESS. So many of my deaths in this game were due to bugs, characters suddenly being flung across the air or just jank that sent me to a cliff. Pair that with the lives system, and I was forced to replay stages CONSTANTLY. Only to game over at the same spots over and over again because a core mechanic just decided to not work.
Why is Big here...
I made the decision to just mod infinite lives to the game, yes, it got that unbearable.
The story doesn’t have much to offer, it’s the same idea as Sonic Adventure but with less intrigue. The OST is really good actually, I enjoyed them. The graphics… well they aren’t bad, but there’s some rough around the edges for sure LMAO.
ROCKING OUT GATOR STYLE!
So yeah, final thoughts time!
This game is fun sometimes, but a super buggy mess in not the fun way. If you are going to play it, just mod infinite lives and spare yourself the trouble of redoing 10 minute long stages again and again.
Sonic Advance 3
THIS FRANCHISE CAN BE GOOD??
You know the deal with Advance series of games, they are all solid games (with poor boss fights.)
This one is no different, you get more Advance gameplay with some new mechanics.
There’s a partner system, where you can pair any character together and get unique abilities exclusive to that pairing. I’ll be honest, none of the pairings are really appealing LMAO! Don’t get me wrong, they are a cool addition, but they don’t do a lot and having to charge the unique abilities kind of defeats the point of them when you need to go fast and not stop. Sometimes, your partner can even hurt more than it helps, which is kind of crazy.
A unbreakable bond!
Another new addition is the fact that there’s hubs instead of stage selection screens. I like this, they have a few extra mini games, let you change characters very easily and even softly introduce mechanics you will see in the stages you are about to play. Really good addition, even if confusing at first.
Oh, did I mention that boss fights don’t all suck? I know right, I was also surprised! A game where the boss fight doesn’t suck or is on rails???
Wacky running.
But yeah, at the end of the day, the Advance formula is fun and having more of it is never a bad thing. So here’s my final thoughts:
Sonic Advance 3 is really fun and actually good, while also having fun boss fights! I recommend it!
Okay, we played a lot of games so far, but the Sonic franchise isn’t just games of course. I'm currently 1/3rd of the way through the list of games, so I figured it would be fun to watch one of the movies after every third mark!
So let's get into the Sonic The Hedgehog (Movie)
…Eh?
This is a… movie that features Sonic, yeah!
The story is very by the books one, Sonic gets teleported to planet Earth and wacky hijinks happen. Although, pretty much everything interesting about Sonic himself and his world is just rushed at the beginning and never brought up again, which is very weird? There’s some pacing issues as well, but the movie is at least fun to look at. (Man, I wish we could've seen the first version of this movie with the ugly Sonic…)
Jim Carrey carries this movie a lot though, perfect fit for the role of Eggman.
Fastest animal alive!
It's a fine movie, it's fun at some points, but it really is just a movie that has Sonic rather than a movie about Sonic. Doesn't matter if you played one or many games from the franchise, the experience will be the same for both types.
I think a good comparison to make is with The Super Mario Bros. Movie. That movie was fun for people who vaguely knew the franchise, as well as people who played many of the games. The newcomers got to see a fun Mario movie while the fans got to point at the screen in giddy by all the references.
The Sonic Movie… doesn’t have that. The characters from the games do evolve into their in-game appearances as the movie goes on, which is pretty cool. But aside from the pixel art animation at the end and one track in the score, there’s not much here for fans.
Evil rock Sonic.
I think that’s about it for what I had to say, it’s a fine movie that has Sonic.
Here's the list right now, after 1/3rd of it is done:
Gold means beaten since last time.
Vampires Just Keep Surviving!
Vampires Survivors just had a big update!
I played it and the new characters and mechanics were quite fun and powerful. One of the characters just lets you get all the weapons in the game throughout a run, because they can generate gold chests easily!
Now, I'M the bullet hell!
This update also included a free DLC collab with Balatro, which is also just as crazy.
I’m still climbing my way to get the 100% with all DLCs, currently, I just finished everything up to the Contra DLC collab.
I like that they introduce more unique mechanics as the DLCs go on, this one even had a cool boss fight!
Next one I’m going to do is the big Castlevania DLC, which funny enough, GOT EVEN MORE CONTENT IN THE NEWEST UPDATE!
This game just keeps on giving, I have so much respect for the developer.
What’s Happening in the Afterlife!
I played a short indie game I discovered through this Reddit post Here!
This post caught my attention by how weird it is, and it turns out, the person behind this post was actually describing a weird game that actually exists!
The game is called Disparity of the Dead and it’s quite the fascinating one.
It’s a platformer with detective mechanics. You play as this detective in the afterlife, searching for clues to why no one is appearing in this limbo after dying.
The void stares back.
It’s an interesting game to both play and look at.
I kind of… don’t want to spoil anything about it here, instead, I’ll link the game for you to play it!
Though, big content warning here, this game talks about death and suicide in a very nonchalant manner. If that bothers you, better to avoid it!
If not, the game is about an hour to an hour and a half long, enjoy the super unique experience!
Heck, even the title screen is unique!
Lighting Round For Game Updates!
Lots of games got updates recently, so let’s cover them!
Escape the Backrooms - This game had its 1.0 release recently and honestly… I’m kind of disappointed. The landscape for this kind of game has grown and evolved with so many features that this game just… does not have. Almost 2 years have passed of constant development, and yet, this game remains the exact same. Something as simple as voice chat for dead people just doesn’t exist?? Heck, even annoying bugs from the previous version are still present in the 1.0 release.
Goofy looking creature.
Me and my friends decided to play the game through it’s entirety to see all the new content added, I mean it’s the 1.0 release! …there wasn’t anything different, everything was basically the same. The new content they added was just 4-5 short levels post game to have multiple endings.
This second playthrough of this game, I was just bored all the time. It’s not a very replayable game and this 1.0 release did not justify a second one. I was so bored that I started spacing out during the sections that WERE new.
To be fair, I’m kind of over this backrooms stuff, it’s not scary and the monsters are super goofy. So that also had some part to play in my negative review.
Wild friends.
But still, if you never played this game with your friends, I’m sure it will be fun. Second playthrough? nah, there’s far more fun games like-
R.E.P.O. - This game also got a huge update and it’s actually good!
Added a lot of variety in the monster department and more mechanics to play with! I particularly love the new mechanic of dead players being able to communicate through their heads for a brief period of time. It makes for a lot more funny scenarios!
I played a match with a group of friends and had a blast laughing at the comedy this game is.
I wish I had something to show here, but I was too distracted laughing to take any screenshots.
Plants Vs Zombies 2: Reflourished - Big day for PVZ fans!
This new update brings the second act of the new world for Reflourished! …a world I haven’t gotten to yet but I’m on my way there!
But I do enjoy all the new awesome costumes for plants and sweet peas are a very fun plant!
It has become kind of a habit for me to check the costume store every time I unlock a new plant, just to check out if they have a fun costume. Now, this would be a sign of trouble in any live service game, but here, this a community made mod. Everything you see, you can ACTUALLY achieve by just playing the game! So I don’t need to just window shop, I can also shop with no microtransactions involved!
I’m glad the fans are the ones keeping this franchise alive and breathing.
Here, check out some of my favorite ones:
Gunfire Reborn - A new DLC dropped along with a new season with new mechanics!
The dlc characters are fun and broken as you would expect, you can play Street Fighter or Tower Defense in the game!
I like the new dice mechanic, better than the gimmick of the previous season. You can make a lot of cool builds now and secondary skill builds are actually viable now!
This new weapon is also very cool and fun
And that’s everything for this segment.
Quite a big stockpile to get through this was, too many things happen all at once…
Find The Flame from Final Fantasy XVI!
As I said previously, that Tekken crossover trailer from The Game Awards introduced me to this song. Man, it was epic and good without context, now it’s twice all that!!
That’s everything for today.
It’s quite a lot, but hey, that’s what happens when I take a day off in this blog.
Thanks for reading!
See you next time, Internet Traveller!
Have a nice day!
