Helo!

Welcome to the first blog update of June, otherwise known as DELTARUNE HAPPENED OH MY GOD I’M LOSING MY MIND-

Today’s topics are: Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Ending, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book and Deltarune!

Spoilers for those topics!

Don’t worry, I’ll be ignoring the huge, Deltarune-shapped elephant today! That means I won’t be including any about chapter 3 & 4 here.

I have something I need to get back into doing real quick that you most likely know what it is and there’s no point in hiding… it’s Deltarune, I need to get back into playing 😭

Let’s begin!

WEBSITE UPDATES

Almost Completion!

The Game Shelf page is almost complete! All the content from the previous game shelf page has been fully ported to this new one + some missing games were added. Which means those previous pages were now obsolete, so I deleted them.

It’s not fully complete though, I still need to implement one link on the drawers… which is going to be a really strange one… but also a fun one!

Anyways, on the mobile front, turns out I didn't even need to add/ change anything to work flawlessly on mobile!

I was fully expecting to need massive code reworks on the mobile section to get everything alright and it was going to be this massive headache. But everything just worked without any input. So that 's good!

Aside from that, I updated/ implemented a few more custom filter buttons and updates here and there~

Sorry, no art today, got a little tired :(

Next blog update will have 2 instead! (The image is supposed to be broken btw)

And that's basically everything!

Not too much but also not too little! Just the right amount of stuff.

As for goals this month… I want to finally finish Crashed Club as that has been kind of haunting the back of my mind for quite a while… begging to be finished. I'm gonna try to finish that this month!

LIFE UPDATES

Finite Wealth!

Here it is, after 3 months, I finished Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth!

And here’s my final thoughts about it~

Cows did come home.

Let me start this sudo review by saying that the turn-based battle system for this game is spectacularly fun! The game places your characters in an arena where you can move around during your turn. This is huge because there’s a lot of mechanics you can play with such as: Critical attacks for attacking an enemy from behind, a duo attack if you are close to a teammate or even picking up weapons from the ground and attacking the enemies with it!

Sometimes the mechanics are a little volatile, but the moment you set up an enemy to be knockbacked to an ally that will follow up your attack and deal even more damage-- GOD it feels amazing!

BIG !$?$ SQUID!

This game also gets bonus points for having the great idea of giving basic attacks the ability to give you MP back, incentivizing you to use them more when low on mana instead of just spamming items all the time!

The mini games are a bit mixed. There’s cool new ones, there old classics and they are all fun. The only issue is that they are FAR too grindy to get all the cool rewards/ stories compared to how much content they provide in return… The side stories are also fun, a few are memorable and a few are forgettable, about the usual I expected.

The ultimate freak master.

Something I’m personally mixed about was the story. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good story as a whole! It does everything and it wanted to do while passing the torch for Ichiban to become the main protagonist going forward. But there’s some points where it definitely felt rushed. The ending was… yeah it was pretty good, I liked it.

Until next time...

I liked this game a lot, and I hope they continue to expand the gameplay more! I personally would love to see skills with action inputs that are more than “Press X a lot” or “Press Y at the right time” and more unique skills in general as they all mostly blend into one samey soup. I would want more equipment with very unique stats such as the ones exclusive to some characters. Example: Joon-gi Han’s jacket giving extra speed based on his Max HP. More stuff like that would be awesome.

Great game, I had to give a baseless and fictitious score to it, I would give it a 80%! I’m not going to get all the achievements like in the previous game though, the game is too grinding and SEGA did a really scummy thing by locking difficulty and new game+ options behind a pay wall.

BAD SEGA, BAD!

Silly Alchemist Adventure on the Go!

After picking up and dropping this game twice because I forgot to continue it, I finally decided to pick up this game for real and play it to its end! -huh? oh right, I forgot to say the name of the game: Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book! (a bit of a long name ay?)

It’s a simple cute game about a bubbly alchemist called Sophie where you gather resources, talk to other fun characters, fight monsters, gather materials and make a bunch of things on your big cauldron. All the while helping a flying, talking book regain her memories! The game also has a time system where most actions you do passes the time in game.

Sophie kind of annoys people too, its funny.

All these things make this game just the perfect time waster for the Steam Deck! With the story being very low stakes and based on how much you want to progress on it, the occasional NPC events where you just have a little slice of life moment with them and the battles being very easy to avoid, it makes for the perfect portable game! You can boot up your Deck, play for a few days and have fun for an hour or so.

The whole gang together for a happy surprise!

I don’t have much else to say than that, just a fun and cute game!

I agree, that monster looks very scary.

DELTARUNE IS TODAY! (dont worry, only chapter 1 & 2 today!)

In anticipation for THE WORLD ENDING (release of Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4), I decided to replay chapter 1 & 2 again! To prepare myself for the adventure ahead and to also have a save file for it because I didn’t have any…

The game is still as fun as ever!

THE WHAT TEAM

Chapter 1 is very fun but it did feel more like a proof of concept. Not in like, unfinished or lacking content, but more in what the themes and whole game is going to be based around. At the time of release, I wasn’t really looking through the Undertale/ Deltarune content and my opinion of chapter 1 was basically: “This is cool, but I need to see more to really get into it.”

And that’s exactly what chapter 2 did! This chapter made me really love Deltarune. By showing everything it is capable of doing as well as setting up future chapters, plot points and stories, the game turned me into a massive fan overnight!

Rules card... why are you here?

Some of my favorite parts from chapter 1 & 2 are the moments where the song GALLERY plays-- that one intense song before final boss fights --those moments gives me the CHILLS everytime. There’s nothing more intense than the moment Susie draws her weapon as the King picks up his son while GALLERY plays…

Oh yeah, my favorite thing in general is just how funny the game is. Every single moment is packed with jokes, references and all that stuff that I can’t stop laughing at even after so many years since the release. Although not as prevalent, the creepy moments are also a highlight!

Very beautiful game too.

By the time you are reading this, I have already started playing chapter 3 & 4 and don’t worry, I’m not here to spoil you on that! Not today at least!

But I can’t 101% say that I’m enjoying every second of it!

With Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth done, I have completed 2 out of the 4 Big RPGs I set out to play this year! The previous one being Mario & Luigi: Brothership and the next two being Final Fantasy XVI and Persona 3 Reload!

I’m not gonna start the next one right away though, I still need to buy them on a sale or something like, basically I have some down time right now! Perfect time for THE END OF THE WORLD (Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4)

SONG OF THE DAY

The Song Of The Day is Lantern by Toby Fox!

I picked this song in commemoration of chapter 3 & 4's release!

I just love how mysterious and grandiose it sounds, paired with how interesting Shawm is as a character- it's just a match made in heaven! Or I guess darkness?

And that's everything from me today~

Now if you excuse me, I shall get back into play Deltarune!

Thank you for reading!

See you next time, Internet Traveller!

Have a nice day!
