August Features: Version 3.0 and Fiend Folio: Reloaded!
Series - Tails Gets Trolled.
The Beginning.
A couple of months back I found this cool channel that makes Deltarune content called “Mr. Brick and Co.”. The main type of content this channel does is big theory video where Mr. Brick does a Powerpoint presentation to his friends who are sitting in the room opposite to him. Basically, it’s a school class but you are learning why Gaster is green and stuff.
They make a lot of cool videos, I recommend Checking Them Out!
But that’s besides the point, this video format reminded me of the PCP University videos I used to watch, which then made me remember about “Tails Gets Trolled”.
I had a thought one day that was “What if I read the entirety of Tails Gets Trolled in secret and just dropped a blog about it.”
Fast forward to the start of August, my schedule was looking somewhat clear, so I decided to give it a shot… little did I know what I was about to get into…
Tails Gets Trolled
Made by Lazerbot
This is a MS Paint webcomic created by Lazerbot in 2011 that features the titular character “Tails” getting trolled by real life internet trolls.
I remembered very few things from the PCP University video on this series, pretty much forgotten all of it.
So I was basically reading it for the first and, oh boy, we need some viewer discretion here.
If you are sensitive to the following:
I recommend you do NOT go to read this comic. A lot of messed up shit happens and will likely upset you.
I’m not joking btw, these things ARE present in this comic!
With that said, this blog is not gonna be the usual media of the month I do, no. I actually don’t recommend anyone to really read this unless you can stomach the MANY immense paragraphs this comic jumpscares you.
… and I guess if you can stomach the messed up stuff too.
Anyway, this blog will be telling the story of Tails Gets Trolled as I understood while reading.
Strap in because this is going to be a very messy, chaotic, funny, messed up, tragic, long winded, and sometimes, actually cool journey.
Chapters 1 - 4: Tails Gets Trolled.
The story begins with Tails. He’s living happily singing lolololololololo, until 2 dudes come out of the shadows and start trolling him.
They call him many bad words and slangs from the early 2010s that I will not recite here, but they are really mean to Tails, making him run off crying.
This is where we get the most famous panel of the comic:
and if you say you remember this from FNF, I will personally slap you with a fish.
Tails runs off to Sonic and Shadow and explains what happened to them.
Sonic says “the way to stop a troll,is to become his friend .as his friend you can show him the right path” (This is how it’s written.)
Shadow tells Tails that Sonic’s method won’t work and the real way to deal with trolls to do this:
Sonic and Shadow continue to argue about their opposing ideas, Sonic saying that there’s no need for “villans” (it’s a typo of “violence”) while Shadow says that’s not going to work. Shadow eventually gives up and lets them do whatever.
As the two of them run off, Shadow says “dumb ass will learn ,”
Sonic and Tails get to the trolls, who are now trolling a Toad, and Sonic attempts to kill them with kindness which uh… doesn’t work at all and the trolls just make him mad. The two of them retreat back to Shadow, Sonic’s method failed.
They meet up with Knuckles and Shadow tells what’s going on while Sonic leaves saying “I’m so mad. im gonna have sex with my girl friend so i wont be so mad”.
Shadow tells Tails he’s gonna show how to really deal with trolls and the trio go to the same trolls again.
The trolls start trolling Shadow, but he calls them mean words back and there’s this back and forth of mean words until Shadow decks one of the trolls in the face.
Then he pulls out a knife and kills both of the trolls.
Later that night, the three of them bury the dead trolls (Tails is traumatized by this event) and Knuckles and Shadow do this:
The death of these trolls alerts the “Troll King” and he sends one his strongest trolls (this the blue hair guy on the cover from before, I don’t remember his name.) to fight Shadow.
The next day, that troll tries to kill Shadow and they start fighting until- MARIO shows up looking for the person that trolled Toad. The troll says it was Shadow and Mario just believes them at face value and now Shadows has to deal with Mario while the troll flees.
Shadow manages to convince Mario that he’s not the one who trolled and Mario leaves. (That was easy.)
Then Sonic comes back with Tails and confronts Shadow about the murdering of the trolls.
The strong troll comes back with a group of trolls, Sonic tries to stop them with kindness, which doesn’t work, and then he turns to his evil form and starts to kill them.
Meanwhile Shadow is like: “Cool bud, thanks for proving my point that we need to commit violence!”
After this, we cut to Silver as he is being trolled by another strong troll (This is the edgy looking guy on the cover.), which sets him off to do his own thing in the story.
All that is chapter 1 by the way. I had to get very in-depth into it because it’s what sets off the event’s that will take place later.
Tails goes off on his own and finds the strong emo troll that was trolling Silver, now trolling Kirby and he tries to put Shadow’s method to work… but he doesn't put up much of a fight, he loses basically instantly against the troll.
Then we cut to Shadow, where Mario, Luigi and Silver meet up with and bring some of the best troll fighters to help Shadow deal with the trolls.
“the troll slaiyers” which consists of Shadow, Mario, Luigi, The Hulk, Teemo, Bugs Bunny, Silver and Rob (This is a OC and he has no ears, so he just there and sometimes says “WHAT??” when people are talking.)
They make a plan to host a fake “Justen bever” concert to attract all the trolls into one place and blow them up at once.
The troll king is told about the concert and he knows it’s a trap because he follows Justen’s blog, so they devise a plan of their own which is to bring a hostage with them to the concert which is Daffy Duck.
Quick cut back to Tails, Sonic finds him and basically goes berserk after the troll who beat up Tails.
Back to Shadow, he makes a deal with Wile E. Coyote to build the stage.
The next day comes and the plan is going well, the concert starts and Shadow is at the stage and basically announces that all of them will die because this is a trap.
Then the trolls bring their hostage to light to which Bugs Bunny is shocked by.
Shadow is like “I don’t who this is, so if I just kill him there won’t be a hostage” but Bugs pleads with Shadow to not because Daffy is his gay lover.
Elmer Fudd shows up.
Then Luigi reveals that the reason why the trolls knew about the fake concert, is because he was a traitor!
Mario and Luigi start fighting because of this, and right as Luigi was about to win against him.
Shadow says “im not gonna lose a good member because of some gay rabbit and his gay fucking duck friend” and just SHOOT DAFFY IN THE HEAD!
Shadow pulls out the bomb remote and threatens to press it unless Luigi lets Mario go and the trolls comply… until Bugs Bunny, distraught by grief lunges at Shadow and breaks the remote. Shadow just kills him after this and tries to attack on some of the strong trolls that had the hostage, but it’s stopped by another one who shows up out of nowhere.
Seeing how bad the situation is, the troll slaiyers flee.
Meanwhile, Sonic learned the location of the troll king from Eggman (he killed him after learning it) and is heading towards the king to stop everything. He’s basically all evil now.
The troll king looks like an actual bridge troll and he has a son which is the trollface (this is the most messed up character in this story).
The king tells his story that he used to be trolled and was forced to live under a bridge, until he decided to give to everyone what they did to him, trolls a lot of people, kills some and creates a society and kingdom of trolls.
Sonic doesn’t give a fuck, turns super and starts fighting him… but he’s not strong enough to match the troll kings power.
Some of Sonic's friends show up to help, but they are all murdered by the troll king’s army (which now includes Luigi).
Emerl is the only one that puts up a fight, unfortunately he’s overpowered by everyone together.
Sonic turns to his evil form again after seeing this but the troll king dies before anything happens.
Vector, the only survivor of this event, runs to Shadow to tell what happened and that Sonic was killed by the king. Which reminds Mario to tell Shadow that Luigi is a double double agent, their fight was staged and Luigi is on their side.
Shadow doesn’t take this well because well… you know, Luigi killed some of his friends and Sonic and tells Mario to fuck off and they start fighting.
And here I am, 1k words in, realizing that this retelling is going to take A LOT longer than I thought…
All of what I said is just 4 chapters so far… and I think you get the point so far.
I really don’t want to write 9k more words to explain everything else that happens later.
I’ll just do cliff notes instead!
Notable Events.
I started to zone out at this point and skipped a few of the dialogue essays because it was getting really annoying. I was also getting high by proxy from reading this entire section of the story.
This famous image is from this comic by the way.
Spongebob and the cloaked individual will be adressed soon. These panels are from a later chapter.
And now, at the latest chapter of Tails Gets Trolled, Tails is fighting a hooded figure that is a bit psychotic, which later is revealed to be a teal colored version of him from another dimension. They fight for the entire chapter and he basically teaches Tails that he has to fight to survive in this world. Or as Shadow put it very early in the comic “Sometimes there’s a need to do what’s needed…”
The latest chapter ends with the alternate universe Tails leaving and Tails being called by someone.
What Just Happened!?
Now that I told of everything that happened in note form that lacks a lot of information, both because I was trying to make it concise but also because I was getting real tired of reading essays in dialogue form, I would like to reiterate that-
All this, all the events that unfolded in this story-
Is because Tails got trolled.
NONE OF THIS WOULD’VE HAPPENED, if Tails didn’t get trolled.
Let that sink in.
The Conclusion.
I have lost many brain cells reading this.
Look, the start is funny and the more recent chapters are genuinely cool and sometimes good, but the whole middle section, the chapters like 8 to 23 there just TOO MUCH text and a lack of focus. Excluding the disturbing things.
If you really plan on reading this… well, best of luck!
I can’t say that you are making a wise decision but uh… yeah, hope you survive, not scarred for life!
I made this Roa for this blog, I hope Miya doesn’t revoke my license to draw because of this.
But being for real, seeing this stupid concept be evolved over the decade and a half was cool.
I’m never touching this again, that’s for sure.
For next month, I wanna read something to the end and something that won’t kill my brain cells…

Feels Like Forever Ago!
It’s not exactly one year today, I don’t remember exactly when I got the Steam Deck in my grubby hands, I’m sure it has been way more than a year at this point!
Man, I love this little device so much~
Pudd acquires Deck!
Played Many Games!
I have played so many things in this thing already, it’s kind of unreal!
I played Hollow Knight and Silksong, which was great, countless hours of Vampire Survivors/ Bullet Heaven games, those are perfect games for it, and many more!
My highlights are definitely the Hollow Knight games, Crosscode and Mina The Hollower, which is a game I played recently that I will for sure make a blog about it!
IT'S HOLLOWING TIME!
There were some games that had less than stellar results with the Steam Deck however, those are usually focused on mouse controls. Games like Mewgenics, Risk of Rain 2 and Rimworld. I tried the trackpads for them, but I just couldn’t get used to them unfortunately…
But hey, the real king for this device is definitely the emulation side!
I pretty much only play emulated games with it now (the ones that aren’t too annoying to set up at least.)
This device is a dream come true to me, I always wanted a portable device that played all my favorite games well and comfortably!
My first dream console was actually a 3DS for those who don’t know, I always wanted one… but my parents always refused to get one as it was too expensive here where I live. (Which they were right.)
But with the Steam Deck, I got no complaints! I got a 3DS and more!
So Rogue Legacy 2 gaming.
How Has It Changed?
The deck is known for being a very customizable device, so how has mine changed over the year of usage?
…
…not much.
It took me a few months to explore outside the comfort zone that is the Steam Big Picture mode, messing with the desktop mode is still something I need to learn because I have no idea how to traverse Linux.
I tried to get Emudeck working on my system but failed miserably at the part of adding games to my library seemsly. I just couldn’t get the games to be recognized. Also, when I solved one troubleshoot issue, another would pop up and it just got really frustrating, so I decided to give up on that and just stick to Retroarch.
I did get Decky Loader working, which is a mod that allows me to add plugins to my Big Picture mode! I now have a slick layout with VA-11 Hall-A sound effects and a few other things!
Nothing big or crazy, I rather prefer the minimalist look of everything.
I saw people go crazy on the customization of things, which is pretty cool! It’s something I’m probably not digging too deep into, but it’s cool that you can do a lot of crazy things!
Was It Worth The Money?
Heck yeah it was!
My only complaints at the moment is that battery life is very volatile depending on the game (some optimized for Deck games have some REAL battery drainage [LOOKING AT YOU MEWGENICS AND TERRATECH LEGION.]) and the trackpads really haven’t clicked in with me… but maybe that’s because I haven’t experimented with them much.
Either way, it was worth every penny I spent on it!
… at the time I bought it!
Paying the current price for it would’ve been a really tough sell to me.
I was very lucky to get mine at the time I did…
Games - Mewgenics.
Mewgenics Talk!
As you may have noticed, I haven't talked about Mewgenics or played it at all recently.
Well, I have a couple of reasons! Here's a blog about that!
Lolo, Feline Commander
Higher Difficulties Are Actively Unfair.
Once you beat the game for the second time, I think, you unlock difficulty modes.
It functions exactly like the hard path on runs, enemies have a chance to be elites and some can even be champions, which basically means they have some kind of mechanic or buff.
Bosses will also have more hp in general and also be champions.
That’s all fine and good, elite enemies are tough but manageable and once in a while champions can be really annoying to deal with. The problem is that the higher your difficulty = even more of everything.
More elites, more hp and, worst of all, more elites that will now have more than just one buff.
To better explain my point about champions having more than one buff is bad, let me explain a battle that happened to me.
The Throbbing King boss is the final boss chapter 1. I was playing on impossible difficulty, which meant this boss would have a lot more hp, and more importantly, 3 elite buffs.
I had a pretty powerful team, I was almost stem rolling through the chapter at that time.
Getting into the fight, the boss rolled a terrific combination of buffs:
Absorbent - Drains all unused mana from a cat at the end of the turn, dealing that amount of damage to feline;
Depressing - All cats get a -1 all stats as long as this enemy is alive;
Sticky - Applies tar to the cat that hits it (-1 speed per stack).
I don't images depicting my points so have these images from the past!
Isolated, these are still pretty back to deal with but somewhat manageable if you have a powerful team… the problem was that this The Throbbing King fight.
This fight is notorious for being really difficult to navigate through because he will constantly create water tiles, which require more speed to traverse, he moves a lot and summons a bunch of enemies that not only inherit his champion passives, BUT ALSO multiply on damage.
It takes a long time to kill him because is an annoying boss to chase, paired with those 3 elite buffs, depressing making you do less in general, sticky making you they can’t ever walk more than 1 tile at a time, and absorbent constantly dealing damage to you, it’s basically impossible to beat his… phase 1…
Phase 2 is more of the same stupidity, more annoying cause he can attack from long range and make your cats bleed.
Oh yeah, have I mentioned this game has a time out mechanic where if you spend more than 10 turns in a fight, your cats start to become tired and increasing damage over time?
Higher difficulties are hell and not fun. There is no strategy to it, you either bring an overpowered broken team with game breaking items to stem roll… or just constantly lose.
That’s without mentioning the fact that event tiles have a secret -3 to all stats, making bad outcomes almost guaranteed to happen all the time.
Breeding System Is Annoying To Min-Max.
Higher difficulties wouldn’t be that terrible if the breeding system was not annoying.
It’s hard to control what cats breed with and basically impossible to make them inherit the correct mutations.
The Messed Up Squad!
Mutations are your bread and butter for higher difficulties, they give your cats extra passives beyond the max 7 stats you can aim towards. There’s some REAL OP ones, like the ones that give you extra attacks and some that even give you a whole extra turn!
Problem is… no matter how you min-max your room stats, mutation inheritance is completely random.
It already took me hours to get to max 7 stats with copious amounts of incest, it would take me 10x times more to get cats to mix into the perfect combinations of mutations…
That is, if I had the good mutations…
Mutation Farm Sucks.
The most reliable ways to get mutations is by having a very high mutation room with cats on it, which I had, or grind the chapter 3 cutscenes, because the cat that comes out from the time machine receives a mutation.
These two methods are fine to do, but super grindy.
The real problem comes with how many freaking mutations this game has!
There’s over 600 of them, but you need the top top tier ones to even stand a chance against the unfairness of higher difficulties.
Even if you get the mutation you want… you still have to deal with the breeding system’s randomness…
IS THAT THE BINDING OF ISAAC!?
If you really want to win without grinding too much, well, you can always break the game with items!
Which leads to my more subjective opinion-
Breaking The Game Is A Less Fun Playstyle.
I just don’t like it, feels boring.
It’s okay to do it once in a while, but after a point, it just feels like I’m checking boxes on a list.
My preferred playstyle is to get 4 cats with classes, put a couple of items and face the challenges head on, instead of obliterating everything with no challenge.
Challenges VS Being Unfair
A common critique I seen for this argument is the following:
“This is a challenge for you to overcome, you shouldn’t be entitled to it.”
I get that, I would agree with this… if the challenge was fair.
Which Mewgenics’ higher difficulties are anything but fair.
It’s like if the game challenged you to a race, but as soon as the race starts, it gets on a bike speed off.
That’s not a fair “challenge”.
The only way to win is by working your butt off to afford a car and bring that to the race before it starts.
Sure, there’s some satisfaction in beating a challenge clearly not meant to be beaten. It’s very rewarding, but this has none of that.
The game is kicking you at every opportunity and your tools to fight back are ever so limited.
Provide something for the player to use to deal with the unfair challenge, if you don’t want to compromise this vision.
Something like an extra reroll for each level up or/ and an extra save scum per difficulty higher than hard. It’s not much but it’s SOMETHING to fight back!
As it is right now, you either grind 100 hours to get the perfect Feline Exodia or just die over and over hoping for something to go through.
Managed to get high numbers on poison back then.
In the end, none of this would matter if the game didn’t put item unlocks behind it.
The fact that there’s content behind these unfair challenges is the problem.
Something similar happens in TBOI with one of the side challenges called “Ultra Hard”.
The game strips you from every helpful mechanic and tells you to beat it… which the best way to do so is to hold R (restart the run) until you get an OP starting item and then latter get a healing item that has a chance to recover Isaac’s hp every minute because hearts don't drop on this challenge.
I’m sure everyone can agree that spending 30+ minutes AFK in a run to recover health is not fun.
I hate that challenge, after beating it for the first time I just decided to cheat every other time I needed to complete for 100%.
Maybe It’s Just Ramblings…
Maybe most of these are ramblings of a person who played 200 hours of this game in just a few months that really loved the game, but now has a lot of bitter memories left from grinding the unfun parts of it… maybe…
Actually-
No. It’s not ramblings, the points I raised are valid!
I love this game still, it’s super fun and a blast to play!
Everything said here really only applies to the people trying to get all the unlocks, which it’s a pretty small number of people all things considered.
Don’t let the things I said discourage you from playing, it's a very fun game!
Can’t wait to see what kind of DLC this game has to offer in the future.
Series - The Binding of Isaac.
Scrapped Original Blog Then!
Back in April, I wanted to do a specific blog about this mod.
I started a new save file to play alongside the Fiend Folio mod, both to have a fresh experience and to. . . waste copious amounts of hours in TBOI again. . .
But I did allow myself to veto/ cheat challenges, because this game really doesn’t have “fun” challenges. Sure, Ultra Hard is a challenge, but I don’t think any sane person is having fun with it.
I also vetoed Tainted Cain, cause that character is ass.
. . . and I also vetoed the daily run unlocks cause. . . I can't do those with mods on.
Anyway, that blog ended up being scrapped.
I was getting frustrated after a long streak of just losing/ having skill issue, but I got pretty far! I had unlocked all tainted characters and was getting into the Greedier mode grind for them to unlock the reverse tarot cards.
My main complaint from last time is that the Boss item pool, the one that is core for you to get good stats, had a bunch of new items added that are just “hp ups” and nothing else. This was a problem because this item pool was the most reliable way to get good stats ups. Getting just hp won’t make the next easier (usually).
So you are just doomed to an endless ever difficult spiral. . .
I looked into the Wiki and Discord of the mod and saw that they were working on a huge update that would incorporate Repetangon into the mod. (For those unaware, that is a script extender. . . or from what I understand, a more powerful tool to mod TBOI! People make insane stuff using it.)
So I just decided to wait back then for this huge update.
Unscrapped New Blog Now!
Fast forward 7 months and the huge update has arrived!
After a bit of troubleshooting (I tried to get my local save file to the Steam Deck but was unsuccessful), I played the new update and it was great!
I lost my progression on the mod, but that was fine because I still had the original save file.
Fiendish Collector Lolo!
I want to tell you how good this update is with a story:
I was just minding my own business doing a Tainted Isaac run.
Things went as normal, I explored the first floor, got my items and stuff. That was until I found the super secret room.
It was just an empty room, with just a singular white rabbit in the middle.
I was confused by this, even for Fiend Folio standards, this was a strange room. The rabbit did not react to anything as well, bombs or tears did nothing to them. . . but when I touched it, the rabbit began to move.
Exiting the room, I saw that the rabbit persisted between rooms and worse yet. . . it was VERY FUCKING ANNOYING!
That rabbit has no other purpose other than to block your shots, push stuff around, spend your money and be in your way. Touching the rabbit forced me to play a challenge run where this rabbit would just annoy me the entire run.
But at lass, I beat the final boss and right when I was going to grab the trophy, this happened:
You can really see my bewilderment by the constant stopping to process what is happening.
A secret 4th character of the mod, just like that!
I had checked the wiki earlier before this run to see how Friend was unlocked, but this character was not there!
This magical moment of discovering something for the first time in TBOI. . . it brought me back to when I first unlocked a Tainted Character in Repentance. I thought I would never get to experience that magic again but here was this mod bringing back that long lost magic!
This pretty much cemented that this mod was very special for me.
Qualities of the Mod!
Okay, that’s my story, let’s talk about what the mod actually does now.
It adds 3 (+1) characters with their Tainted counterparts and they all have their unique gimmicks that don’t feel out of place.
The character, Friend, is pretty cool! She can only have 6 hearts, but her hearts are bullets she can shoot!
Losing a heart means less bullets to shoot.
All the hearts have different types of bullets, so you really want to manage what kind of hearts you have.
It’s a pretty cool gimmick for a character!
There's even cool new guns if you pick specific items!
I haven’t tried the Tainted version of Golem, Friend and the mysterious one yet, been too busy getting the important unlocks of the other ones.
The big thing for the mod is the new floor gimmicks, enemies and bosses and they are just as good as the previous version.
Everything in this part of the mod is better and has some new additions like the new curses which are pretty cool.
I like the new radioactive theme for the Ashpit chapter, it’s very unique!
I didn't get screenshots of that floor, so enjoy this!
There’s a bunch of new items added too, with,I think, reworked ones for the boss pool.
I don’t know what has changed exactly, but boss items do feel more reliable now, so that’s good! Runs have felt better as a whole, at least for me.
You can’t really steam roll most floors cause the mod does make TBOI harder with the new enemies and gimmicks, which honestly makes it more fun. You have to actually play the game and not auto pilot to the end sometimes.
The new items are also pretty cool, even if some cause A LOT of lag when stuff gets crazy.
The only problem now is that timed objectives are pretty much impossible to achieve.
Harder runs (+the new curses) make you waste a lot of time on floors in general, which make Boss Rush, and to a lesser extent Rush, harder to get. . . so I decided to just have them open at all times. Add that to my list of vetos now.
Doesn't matter for this point, but look at the size of this map.
I suppose this problem doesn’t really matter, no is playing TBOI and actually engaging with Boss Rush after they get the unlocks from it, so it’s fine.
Favorite Items!
I wanted to talk about some of my favorite items from this update in no particular order:
Can of Beans - FARTS EVERYWHERE!
This item modifies your tears to create a fart explosion on any contact. It’s really fun seeing this item in effect and the cooler part is that it has synergy with the other bean items!
Orange Juice - If you ever played 100% Orange Juice, you will feel at home
Tiles from that game are added to each room and stepping on them does their respective effects from the game.
This item is mostly a grief to your run, but it’s fun.
Also forgot to take a screenshot of this, so enjoy not quite 100% oranges.
Horncob - You love pills right?
This item has a chance to force feed you a random pill each time you kill an enemy.
This item is 90% of the time a grief to your run, and it’s not a new item from the update.
Rat Poison - You will learn to HATE developers.
Upon use, this item will completely erase all the rooms made by the developer of the current room. Like, wipe it COMPLETELY clean.
Any room made by the rat poisoned developer will be completely empty when you enter. . .
Me and my friend were playing a run and he used this item and we proceeded to lose two item rooms, multiple rooms AND A DEVIL DEAL BECAUSE OF IT!
This item WILL grief you, but it’s really funny, and also not from this update.
Jumbo Josh - . . .
It’s Jumbo Josh.
This item makes me grieve.
Go Play It!
Go for it!
Fiend Folio is a very zany and fun mod with a lot of effort put into it!
I’m enjoying it a lot, so you will too!
(This mod is the reason why I have been unproductive on this blog as of recent! Blame the devs and not my lazyness!)
Website - Website Changes.
Version 3.0 Is Here!
A lot has changed in the past 8 months, all this was a build up to the Version 3.0 of Pudding’s Cove!
But before anything, If You See Something Broken, Please Clear Your Cache!
Most of the time it’s not actually broken and it’s just outdated!
(If you do that and it still is broken, do send me an email about it cause it’s 100% broken LOL)
With that out of the way, here's the flagship addition for V3:
Designs by Miya, Lolo and Roa will now be prominently featured in the website alongside Pudd!
They look wonderful, don’t they?
Miya did an amazing job drawing her characters!
(You should check her website out btw, a new huge update just happened there too!)
Generally, you will find Pudd associated with the website and webdev stuff, Lolo related to game stuff and Roa in anime/manga stuff.
I’m sure you noticed some of the blogs colored after them feature art of them!
The whole website has been adapted to fit these new members and their associations, so don’t be surprised if some assets you were accustomed to changed their theming.
Oh yeah, talking about themes-
Reworked Theme System!
Previously, the theme system was a bit of a secret.
You would type a specific word at the home page, an image in the corner would pop up and clicking it would change the aesthetics of the page.
It was janky and kind of broken (which was my fault, the script Miya made for me was not meant to be stretched and warped the way I did… So I commissioned Code Master Wizard Kuurp to remake this system and make it much more intuitive and easy to add to.
And he did just that!
The theme system now works as a layer applied to the current CSS of the page, instead of replacing the CSS altogether, which essentially means it’s better optimized and makes it much easier to work on any page we want instead of being exclusive to the home page.
That’s right, Themes Can Be Toggle In Any Of The Main Pages, not just the home page now and they carry over to the next page if you typed the word to and activated it!
This was a HUGE amount of work to do and there was a lot of bugs, but we managed to get it working perfectly in the end and it’s really cool!
We also made the themes be able to Change More Than Just Colors of the page, now they can change cursors (it was able to do it before, but this time we have a more appropriate cursor to change!), favicons, logos and even fonts! Nothing is off the table now!
All the previous themes were ported over and updated for this new script and I also took the liberty of adding 6 more themes to the pool, making it total 12 now!
Themes were also Integrated To The Main Pages itself, they are no longer a secret.
5 themes are featured in the main pages, 2 themes are seasonal (they will show up during the right time of the year, but can still be toggled if you find the secret page with the word you need to type!) and 5 are secret themes you have to find!
Once again, big thanks to Kuurp for helping me with this one. He managed to do the impossible, which is translating my terribly explained ideas into real tangible code that works perfect!
Please go visit his website, it’s super cool and impressively coded
Now let’s get into the rest of the changes that vary in sizes:
All Main Pages Have Been Updated!
Aside from theming system working in any of them now, they also received a bunch of changes:
- Landing Page
This page now features the two new jelly girls that peek from behind the gate! (Don’t question how they do it.)
They have a couple of different ways they do it, so have fun seeing them!
(Thanks Kuurp for helping me code that.)
- Home Page
Pudd is no longer alone on this page!
When you load that page, you have a chance to get one of the jelly girls dressed as Maids in the logo! (The logo itself was also themed!)
Can you get the one with all three of them?
(I commissioned Miya to draw the trio as maids.)
I also updated some of the assets in that page to better fit the changes the other pages received.
- About Me Page
This page now features the “pudd” theme and it was rewritten to both better explain the website, as well as, be better in general.
- Games Page
This page now features the “lolo” theme and it was rewritten to better fit my current tastes.
- Ani/Manga Page
This page now features the “roa” theme and it was rewritten to better fit my current tastes.
- Blog Page
At the start of the year I remade the blog into this format that is much better to read and make. I decided to include that in the big “Version 3.0” banner, but if you are looking for new additions outside of that:
Custom blog themes now have sound effects;
Instruction page was rewritten to be a better explanation;
Filter buttons received many updates, such as new buttons and change to other ones to fit Lolo and Roa;
Replaced the Chatbox with a Drawbox, which big thanks to Kona for helping me out with that!
When I went to make my Drawbox, the website teaching you how to do it was broken… but, thankfully, Kona still had the instructions and files necessary to make it! My eternal postponing almost came back to bite me if it wasn’t for her…
Please go check out her cute website!
- Writing Page
This page now features the “writing” theme and has some minor text adjustments.
- Misc Page
Added a Credits section with the people that helped me make this place! (They also have funny icons!)
- Guestbook Page
The guestbook looks a lot nicer now!
I wanted to do a sort of recipe book theming, but unfortunately I found the code to be very restrictive, so I decided to make something cooler instead!
- Links Page
This page now features the “retro” theme and it’s the least touched page. Just some minor text touches.
- Sitebox (Nekoweb only)
I updated this with many designs over time, but finally, I managed to settle on one that looks cool and I like it!
Here's the progression over the months.
Oh, and of course, plenty More Secrets for you to find!
Some new, some old (from blogs from long ago [hiding secrets in blogs was a terrible idea to begin with]) but they are a lot of fun!
That’s All For Big Features!
The rest of the stuff left is a bunch of smaller stuff such as:
A lot of pages were updated to squash some inconsistencies with the new version 3;
Maintenance of the Game Shelf page;
Changed the host for the videos in the Interloper page to save on file size;
Plenty of CSS optimizations and some removed redundancies;
And probably a lot more other stuff that I forgot to write down.
Version 3.0 Just Suddenly Happened.
In the past few months, I made tons of changes to the website without really thinking about being a “Big Update”. But after coming back from my holidays, it clicked in my head that this was really shaping up to be something much bigger than I expected.
At first I was like “I want to update the blog”, then it was “I really need to rewrite these main pages”, then it was “Maybe I should include Lolo and Roa as mascots?”, then it was “I really should update the theme system” and after that last one I just decided to pull the trigger and put all the ideas I had into this big 3.0 update.
Structurally, the website is still the same, which is perfectly fine to me. This layout works perfectly for me!
The things that changed were the aesthetics and mechanics in the website, they were made a lot better with everyone’s help!
Version 3.0 really wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t for the help of my friends who, very patiently, listened to my poorly explained rambles and helped me turn the things in my tiny brain into reality!
This version has some of my favorite pages and things I ever created!
If you haven’t checked their websites out, Miya, Kuurp and Kona, please do, they are wonderful people!
3.0 ended up happening before any Phoenix Club updates… but that’s still being worked on! We got good progress on that front, still lots to do though.
Oh yeah, worth noting that the lack of many blogs recently is because of these two things being worked on.
But that’s all for today, thanks for reading and enjoy the 3.0 version!
July Features: Gravity Circuit and Pudding Game Collection Volume 1!

Kid Named 2010s
I’m sure this is not unique to me.
Growing up, I watched many cartoons. The 2010s had so many great ones to pick from that it was genuinely impossible to keep up with them!
I mostly stuck with Cartoon Network, and I believe at the time, my favorite was Adventure Time.
Something about the mysteries of that world and the bits of continuity kept me coming back to watch and rewatch all the episodes on TV… when I was lucky enough to do so. My parents had dibs on the TV after a certain point of the day so I had to pray that I could watch one episode before they came in to watch their novelas.
Anyway, this blog update is not about my happy memories. This blog is about the horror ones!
I was not unfamiliar with horror, back then I was around the “creepypasta” block. I knew some stuff about horror but… I was very weak.
I would seek out creepypasta related stuff, but never think too hard about it, because if I did I would be unable to sleep from being too scared. Think of the stupidest creepypasta possible, and I can say with some certainty that it probably stole sleep away from me.
But there was a clear divide in mind, horror I saw on my phone, cartoons I saw on TV.
So I could be safe watching TV when I needed to, nothing horror related would ever appear there… it was just cartoons, right?
Episodes Too Scary!
The first BETRAYAL of that self-imposed trust was from Adventure Time funny enough.
Slumber Party Panic was the first episode to feature the “candy zombies” and it’s the first ever episode of that show. (how is this the first episode???)
The plot is basically, a horde of candy zombies is attacking Bubblegum’s kingdom, but the people aren’t aware of it. Everyone in the kingdom is having a party at the castle and it’s up to Finn, Jake and Princess Bubblegum to keep the inhabitants safe and unaware from the zombies outside. Otherwise they will EXPLODE VIOLENTLY from anxiety upon seeing them.
The specific betrayal I’m talking about was not this episode, but I did watch this one and was a bit lukewarm on it.
I remember laughing sometimes but most of the time I had conflicted emotions. It was so comedic and horrific that it turned neutral in my mind… but that was NOTHING compared to what was coming.
From Bad to Worse was an episode where the concept of candy zombies came back, but this one was FAR more scary.
The plot was much more focused on the horror aspect of the outbreak, the trio from last time plus a couple of other characters were stuck in the castle with the zombies surrounding them. The group of survivors are pushed back to the top of the castle while losing one person at a time. Until the end of the episode where it was just Finn left.
This episode FUCKED me up. It’s structured exactly like a zombie apocalypse and seeing each of the characters turning into zombies one by one was really messed up. I recall one of the scenes where Jake is turning into a zombie and he’s using his stretch powers to try to keep the infection away from the rest of his body while Finn finds the cure. That was horrifying for a child to watch.
Things do actually feel hopeless as the episode goes on, but Finn manages to clutch out in the end and creates a cure to this nonsense.
Still, the hopeless feeling I got throughout the episode left me scarred and scared for days.
Luckily, that was the last zombie episode I watched from that cartoon, I don’t know if there were more after that one.
Another cartoon that had a zombie episode that kept me up at night was one of those filler cartoons no one remembers about: Scaredy Squirrel.
This fast paced show had an episode called Aisle of the Dead and the plot was basically, it’s a really hot day and the store where the squirrel works opens a new machine with a brain freeze ice cream, smoothie, whatever.
The brain freeze turns people to zombies and the squirrel and his skunk friend have to run away from the zombies.
This episode really freaked me out back then, it felt equally hopeless as the Adventure Time one…
I rewatched this episode recently to see if it really was what my mind thought it was and… man, this is nothing LMAO!
My mind completely hallucinated horror aspects to this cause this had nothing remotely horror related. The episode was very tame and the only lasting thing is that the episode ends with a bad ending where there is no cure, but even then it’s play for laughs which… I didn’t laugh. This show was just lukewarm.
Kind of related to cartoons, there was an edgy Mario animation back in the day where the Mushroom Kingdom was being attacked by zombies that also had that same effect on me. Characters were being turned to zombies one by one and the animation ends with Wario turning to a zombie and the cast losing.
I’m 98% that this was the animation:
It’s uh… pretty edgy and very of its age upon rewatching LMAO!
Episodes Too Scary!
Reading this, you might notice a couple of patterns:
1. My main fear was zombies;
2. Hopelessness left me scared.
I watched plenty of cartoons that had other zombie episodes that didn’t leave me with debuffed sleep.
But this combination of factors caused a lasting impression.
I think the particular fear of zombies came from me once seeing a dvd cover for The Walking Dead when I was a child, and I kind of internalized that “undead people = scary”. But this never kicked into high gear until that fear met with hopelessness.
Other Nonsense!
Some other noteworthy things that did keep me up at night but this time I was a teenager were:
Dead Space - Upon first exposure, I got hook, line and sinker into it. It’s the only horror game that ever made me actually not sleep for weeks. This is still the case nowadays.
I can’t play this game, because if I do I’m gonna get immersed and if that happens… I’m gonna get fired from my job because I’m too exhausted to work because of lack of sleep.
Doki Doki Literature Club - Okay, let me explain-
This has nothing to do with anything I talked about before in this blog. There’s no zombies in DDLC and maybe it’s a hopeless situation, IDK, I don’t remember the game that much. I just wanted to relate a strange experience I had with vivid short dreams.
After witnessing that game for the first time, I decided to have some afternoon nap ZZZs, but little did I know I would have one of the most strange moments in my life.
The dream I had on my first attempt to nap was that final room in the void where Monika stares at your soul for all eternity, but there was no Monika there.
This room here.
It was just me, in that room, nothing else.
After five minutes later, or smth like that, I wake up and decide to go to sleep again.
I instantly fell asleep and guess what happened- I was back in that room again.
Then the cycle started, for the next hour, I would wake up and instantly fall asleep, have the same exact dream and then wake up and repeat.
It was so weird because I had no control. I wanted to just get out of bed but my body would not move an inch after waking up, I was just stuck in this endless cycle until… I just woke up for good?
The last time I woke up, I was in a bit of panic and my heart was racing like crazy, but I woke up!
Even now I still don’t know what happened that day.
Did I have some kind of sleep paralysis thing? Or was I dreaming about waking up and then falling back asleep and none of it was real?
That’s enough for that ramble, I don’t have much else to say about the main topic of this blog.
Oh wait, I do actually.
I avoided any words that started with Z in my PS2 SNES emulator disc because I was afraid of playing Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
That rule also applied to the dictionary, which made nonsense but that’s being a child for ya.
Series - The Travelling Cat Chronicles (Series).
The Goodbye Cat
Made by Hiro Arikawa
(Using portuguese cover because it's cool.)
This is a bit unfortunate… but I dropped this book.
This is a sequel to another book I previously read and reviewed here called “The Travelling Cats Chronicles”.
That was a great book about a cat travelling with his owner to various places in hopes to find a new owner for said cat. Tear jerker ending, all that good stuff.
Tiny break for a simple Roa cat.
That book had a pretty complete story, so if a sequel were to happen, I would want to see it tackle events that happened in the background of the original… which The Goodbye Cat does.
In the original story, the owner of the cat had a previous cat when he was a child and that little feline is a very important plot element.
In this sequel, we actually go through that cat’s life and everything that leads up to the ending we were told about that feline.
This was great stuff! I absolutely loved reading the story about that cat…
So why did I drop the book?
Well… that whole story was just 1/3rd of the book.
The rest of the book is just a different story about a different person visiting cat island and whatever, which, at least to the point I read (about halfway) had no connection with the previous story or anything related to it.
I’m sure this is a nice and well told story… I just had zero investment in this sudden change in direction, which made me not wanna read it anymore.
This is why there was no book review last month. I tried a couple of times to get into the book again but I could never get invested in the other 2/3rds of this book.
The previous Roa art was unknowingly inspired by this image.
So I’m just gonna throw the towel here, accept that this is my first ever proper book I have dropped…
Would I recommend this book?
Maybe.
Maybe you will have a better time than me.
The Travelling Cat Chronicles is great, that one you should always read!

Title Title!
Welcome a new blog series called Pudding Game Collection! (PGC for short!)
This is a simple series, it’s just me talking about a group of games I played recently that sometimes, and sometimes not, can be grouped together under one umbrella!
This basically mashing 3 small blogs together into one big one with a proper format.
Today’s volume is: Bullet Heaven With Stakes!
Some people say that this genre is boring because there are no stakes.
So, here’s some games that do have stakes!
Playtime: 14h~
Enjoyment: Very Fun
Platform of Choice: Steam
Steam Deck: Mouse Keyboard was preferred, but it’s perfectly playable and battery is not an issue!
In this game of an ever evolving creature, hunting and eating to grow stronger and become a horrendous monster and defeat a boss at the end!
Look at my crab!
Each time you level up, you get the usual three options for upgrades, but in this game, they are animal evolutions that reflect on your blob!
Evolutions have 5 different types of affinities, which are basically “types of builds” you can focus on with their mechanics to focus on and all that good stuff. There’s also a difficult to tap in affinity which is the fabled crab one, which makes you take more damage but you get greater rewards.
What makes this game different from the usual bullet heaven is the distinct lack of… bullets. Instead, your blob is thrown in the middle of an ecosystem with animals already doing their own stuff. Just walk around, eat fruits, hunt for meat, dodge predators and attacks from other animals.
You have a lot more agency in this one, you are not just at the mercy of an endless wave of enemies walking towards you.
Aside from that, it works exactly like the rest, after a few minutes a boss spawns and so on.
Chaotic ecosystem!
Something else this game makes different is the rarity system for level ups.
Each evolution comes with a random rarity that will increase the stats of that evolution and will persist on the subsequent upgrades of that evolution. High rarity = good.
There’s a bit of strategy involved with this, because you have the option to upgrade the rarity of your “choose 3” with points you get from killing big guys. You can strategically upgrade an already chosen evolution to get more stats from the upgrades, or try to aim to get an evolution at max rarity to maximize your gains.
It's a fun system to play with.
The only problem with this game is that it asks a lot of you, but doesn’t have the content to keep you engaged.
The main mode is a 20 step difficulty stair where you climb by winning runs in each difficulty.
The game has over 120 evolutions, which sounds like a lot, but after you reach the 10th step of that stair and play a few of the challenges… you pretty much saw all it had to offer.
Upgrading my crab.
Runs feel very samey and kind of boring even with the increased agency and difficulty. (The difficulty jumps from step to step is very gradual, very little changes, which only adds to the tedium.)
The challenges are cool and do force you to play, unfortunately they are locked behind milestone steps…
There’s the DNA system, which is basically 2 unique perks you pick at the start of a run, that helps with some variety, but those don't do enough as well.
Small almost crab.
I had fun with the game, the gameplay is as addictive as one would expect and the added agency makes it engaging. But after reaching halfway through the stair, I got bored and quit.
The game really needs more content to justify length.
I would recommend getting this game when it’s on sale or later when it gets more updates with new content.
Playtime: 31h~
Enjoyment: Fun
Platform of Choice: Steam
Steam Deck: Perfectly playable on it, just tweak the graphics settings for longer battery life…
A title perhaps more fitting of the Bullet Heaven genre.
Enemies are swarming you and you have to fight back with your weapons.
What makes this one different from the rest is that you are a tank with tank controls!
…
Okay, it’s not just that, your tank is a building block where you can attach things!
Building my monster!
Every level up gives you a choice of one piece to put on your tank, which you have to attach to your tank to get the bonus.
Weapons are also like that! You can have a billion weapons, but you have to attach all of them to your tank and build out your monstrosity while also keeping in mind that all the weapons have light of sight/ need to be placed in specific spots to work best.
Having to engage with the building aspect every level up might sound like a huge pace breaker, but to be honest, that wasn't the case for me. I was just as engaged as I was fighting.
There’s 4 characters you can play as, each featuring their some exclusive blocks and their own gimmicks with their boost mechanic… which are kind of a mixed back. Half were fun, and the other half was just okay.
There’s 4 stages to play which have their own preset layout and small gimmicks & waves of enemies. You unlock higher difficulties by doing challenges in said stages to get stars!
Those were a lot of fun…
But the higher difficulties really emphasized the game's flaws.
Fun fact: I died a lot due to tank controls.
In the Bullet Heaven genre, the worst sin you can commit to increase difficulty, at least for me, is to take away options from the player. Which this game does…
In this sort of game, you rely purely on RNG to win difficult challenges, because you literally can't avoid the enemies all around you.
Having less cards to draw just makes the experience frustrating.
Unlocks are also a big miss here, there some good ones but most of the solid, reliable blocks/ weapons are the ones available at base. So unlocking stuff hurts you because it adds a bunch of other stuff that is less reliable than the base things.
I played and liked this game a lot, but decided to drop out from the 100% journey after feeling the frustrating experience of high difficulty & how clunky the 4th character is.
I would recommend this game at full price, it’s fun enough for what it is! By the time you get to high difficulties, you will be plenty satisfied.
I saw that it got an update recently that did address some of these complaints I had, so the devs are actively addressing issues and updating the game.
I didn’t play after the update though, so I don't know how impactful it was.
(Update: I had to play to get some screenshots, and they changed the character specific challenges to be general challenges.)
Playtime: 48h~
Enjoyment: Very Fun
Platform of Choice: Steam
Steam Deck: Perfectly playable with a good battery life!
Have you ever thought of mixing Bullet Heaven with Breakout? AND putting a town building aspect on it??
This wild mix of genres actually makes for a pretty great and unique game!
Ball X Pit has two phases for the gameplay, the first one is the combat.
You fight enemies in a Breakout type way, you aim the ball, shoot and try to maximize the damage of the balls by making them bounce to other enemies and making them get to the back of the board! Fun Breakout stuff!
The rest plays out like the usual Bullet Heaven game, endless waves of enemies that come towards you, level ups, upgrades and fusions…?
Many balls.
After killing a certain number of enemies, you will get a special power that allows you pick one of three options:
Evolution - If you have the required equipment, you can combine them to evolve into something else!
Upgrade - Get a couple of level ups on your weapons/ passives.
Fusion - The coolest thing ever.
Balls (these are your weapons if you didn’t clock that in yet.) that are max lvl can be combined together to make one ball with both effects!
For example, if you have a NUCLEAR BOMB ball you can combine Cell bomb, which splits into two on hit, and create a ball that is a NUCLEAR BOMB that splits into OTHER NUCLEAR BOMBS!
You can do this with any ball you want, as long as that ball is not already fused!
And the fusion system is well thought out too, because they do take into account a lot of the effects that feel like they wouldn’t work.
Million balls.
The game also has a bunch of characters you can play that feature their own gimmicks.
One of the crazier gimmicks was from a character that turns this game into a TURN BASED GAME! That was shocking to me!
After you are done with the combat, you return to base where the town building comes to play.
You place houses, resources and buildings to construct and then send your workers to collect them, still in the Breakout style!
They will be bouncing around all over the place, collecting resources and building things when hitting it.
I have less to say about this part, but I still had a lot of fun!
Town Breakout!
Out of the three games today, this one the best one for sure. There’s a variety of different characters to play as, many stages with their own gimmicks and a lot of balls to find and fuse!
I had lots of fun with it~
I beat the game and completed all the achivos available. I didn’t complete the game itself 100% because the new game+ stuff is just more stage grinding which I wasn’t down for.
Still, no complaints from me, just a solid, very addictive Bullet Heaven game!
Playtime: 10h~
Enjoyment: Very Fun
Platform of Choice: Steam
Steam Deck: I would never play a FPS on a controller.
A bonus in the very first volume?
This is a party (or I guess “friendslop”) type of game inspired by Helldivers 2 where you go to a stage, get loot, do objectives and extract!
What makes this one different is that this game has very fluid movement and trades stratagems for elemental spells that are synergistic with each other!
Oh, and there’s some lite Roguelike gameplay in the missions themselves.
Here's a random screenshot I don't remember taking.
The movement in this game is pretty fun to do, you can really speed through the map if you time your bunnyhops perfectly. Plus it makes dodging the many bullets and enemies coming towards you more in your control! (I guess you could consider this game a Bullet Heaven… but of the Hell variety?)
It also made finding the many secrets the stages have a lot more fun.
The joker system is also cool. Enemies and some chests have a chance to drop a joker that gives you some unique effects such as “more damage while airborne” and those kinds of cool effects. You can have multiple of one effect and they all mostly stack.
While this system makes each mission more fun, because it adds more variety on the type of builds you will have during a mission, I think the game needs more jokers.
A lot of the effects are simple, but they can do so much with unique gimmicks.
You can also equip jokers back at base on weapons/ your characters so you can start with them in the mission.
You can also upgrade them, which gives you something to grind for.
My only complaint is that things are very grindy… it took a long time for me to unlock a single weapon… but I’m also playing the game wrong.
Apologies but I can’t give a concrete review of this because uh- NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY THIS WITH ME!
Me and a couple of friends bought the game and played like, 3 matches? After that, any time I asked to play I was met with silence… so I had to wing things by myself.
Maybe the game is not grindy, since you will have 3 other heads doing stuff like you are.
But that’s the experience of an (abandoned) solo player… yippee…
(The game had matchmaking, but I wanted to play at my own pace, so I stuck with the lone road.)
Fart Nuke
If you can find a group to play with, this game is a lot of fun!
If you are going solo, it’s also a fun game! Just grindy.
I recommend buying this at full price, you will get lots of fun from it. Plus the devs are very active, so there’s lots of updates to come it seems.
And that’s a wrap on the first PGC!
I wanna keep doing this as a “series” for the blog.
I think it’s a good way to group small topics I don't have much to talk about/ games that will likely only appear once in the blog.
Open to feedback on what else to add to make this series better.
Series - Deltarune.
Time For Terrible Fanfiction!
Welcome to the “Pudding tries to connect dots in his head like a conspiracy theorist” blog!
This is how I thought chapter 5 of Deltarune might have gone in my head.
There were a lot of scattered thoughts that I never thought of connecting together until now, so some things might not make too much sense. There will be a lot of gaps in context as well that I don’t know myself, so you gotta fill those yourself.
So, here I go!
Basically The Same Start…
Chapter 5 would’ve started off pretty much the same as it does in the game today, Kris would wake up, do festival things with friends… I never thought of what these festival things would be sooooo we just skip the slice of life and get to the dark world!
Well, just before that part!
At the night of the festival, Asgore would be missing from the entire thing, which some NPCs would point out that they haven’t seen Kris’ dad anywhere. Someone (Maybe Sans at the request of Toriel) would ask Kris and Susie to go see Asgore and make sure he’s okay.
The duo would go to the flower shop, with Sans tagging along for no reason.
Windows to the shop would be completely pitch black, and upon opening the door, the darkness would start to leak out. There was a dark fountain inside!
Kris and Susie give a bogus reason for why black smoke was coming out of Asgore house and ask Sans to stand by the shop entrance and not let anyone in and he would just say “Sure, okay.”
And then, the duo jumps in to deal with the dark fountain!
A Familiar Dark World!
Before anything, here’s an image I’ll spend the rest of the blog explaining:
This is the entire route the fun gang would take this dark world.
Upon landing, the fun gang would find themselves at the new home from Undertale. More specifically, the one showcased at the 10th anniversary stream.
They would explore this world very unfamiliar to them, with many darkners who talk about Asgore and how great and fierce leader he is.
My idea was basically going through Undertale in reverse order, from New Home to the Ruins. meeting new faces and other characters that might look like Undertale characters.
Just before the Ruins, the fun gang would pass through a garden of pink and gold flowers that would hold some significance to the plot… that I didn’t think about…
At the ruins, the palace where Asgore is at would be seen from there and the dark fountain right at the center. The NPCs there would be much more fierce and hostile, since Asgore would be alarmed by a group of intruders heading to the fountain.
Final Battle.
The fun gang would go through the castle and meet Asgore at the throne room.
There he had an army ready to attack the people that got in the dark world, but upon seeing Kris, he would be surprised and back off the army.
There he would explain that he created this fountain with the black shard he had, over the years of research into the incident back then, he learned about the dark worlds and how one could possibly open one.
He took notes of odd activities in town and the disappearance of Undyne during the past few days and was sure that they were related to the dark fountains.
He created one to attract the person messing with fountains around town and stop them for good… but he ended up finding Kris and his friends instead.
Susie mentions that they have to seal the fountain before anymore darkness leaks and Asgore impedes them.
He wanted to capture the true culprit behind the fountains (he didn’t believe the fun gang was at fault and just innocent bystanders caught into this mess) and keep his fountain… because it gave him a delusion of being loved.
Many years his love has been continuously broken and unrequited by others, but this place gave him all of that and more. A whole kingdom loved and adored him.
This would get to his head and he would engage in a fight against the fun gang.
Queue an Epic Remix of Asgore’s theme here
After the battle is over, Asgore would change his ways and as the fun gang was on the way to seal the fountain- The Knight appears!
He unleashes many blades into the ground before the fun gang can react and essentially begins the roaring!
𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓔𝓷𝓭 (for chapter 5)! :)
Other Side Stuff.
The secret boss would be something related to Ralsei, with a similar vibe to Susie’s fight in chapter 4.
Possible candidates would be Sans, who just decided to look inside the shop and accidentally fell in.
Now with new powers, him and Ralsei would fight, for some reason, and this would serve as a lesson to Ralsei. Something like, “Take a chill pill, Ralsei. Thinking and worrying too much will just blind you from what's happening now.” kinda deal.
The second candidate would be Flowey! A new and reformed one from Asgore love. They would not be evil this time.
Flowey would have the assistance of the other flowers and the gimmick of the fight would basically be random soul switching mid battle. Idk what purpose or lesson Ralsei would learn from this though… didn’t think that far… like many other things before this…
The egg would be be found at the field of flowers in a secret path or smth- I DON’T KNOW
THIS EGG MAN NONSENSE IS SO CONFUSING, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS EGG WOULD EVEN DO!
Weird Route Chapter!
One thing I predicted right in my mind (this wasn’t much of a prediction, it was kind of obvious from the secret pages in the deltarune website) was that the weird route would have some kind of ending in this chapter.
…
What that ending might be? Stopping the knight probably.
In the weird route, Susie would be mostly absent to give Noelle and Kris space, which would then lead to Noelle and Kris finding the flower shop fountain.
The dark world would basically be more training for Noelle as the entire palace got more dangerous at the sight of intruders actually killing darkners and stuff.
At the end, Noelle would learn an even stronger spell than snowgrave and cast it against the knight, before they made the roaring happen.
The end…?
I didn’t think much about the weird route either beyond just “the end”.
Very Different Chapters.
Chapter 5 ended up being COMPLETELY different than the ideas circulating in my head, for the better as well.
I enjoyed the chapter 5 we got, some small nitpicks aside.
My chapter 5 timeline is very spotty because I never sat down and tried to write everything in a coherent manner. These were all thoughts I accumulated from thinking about it and from what others thought it would be about.
I had some confidence in some of my ideas… until the trailer dropped and completely shattered all of it with the japanese theming!
You can’t ever predict what Toby is going to do…
Games - Gravity Circuit.
Suprise Banger!
For the first time in a while, I feel bad for getting a game for FREE!
Because it's such a great game!
Megaman But Fists!
Gravity Circuit is a Megaman/ X style game where you play as a robot named Kai, fighting through the virus army to save the planet!
With your BARE FISTS!
Unlike the inspirations, the combat in this game is purely melee based and you have a simple combo you can perform plus aerial attacks.
Being strictly melee is a huge downside, so to make up for it, you have a grapple hook!
You can cling yourself to walls or ceilings using it, but also, grab enemies (or their ragdolls) and throw them into other enemies!
Throwing things back at enemies basically kills them instantly, and then you can grab the ragdoll of that enemy you just defeated to defeat the next one and continue the insane speedy cycle to quickly get through a stage. If you want to go fast in this one, better utilize all the ragdolls you can get a hold off!
In the place of weapon abilities obtained from bosses, Kai gets EX powers, which only 4 can be equipped at one time and you need to charge your EX gauge to use it. It’s basically an ultimate attack/ move. The counter was my favorite one.
There’s also extra perks you can equip that give you various bonuses, such as one that lets you double jump, another to attack faster or another to give you invincibility on slide, etc. There’s a bunch of those, so there’s a lot of customization and builds you can do!
…Even if there’s a bit of the Hollow Knight effect, where most of the options get severely outclassed by the really good ones.
You get these perks by rescuing bots hidden throughout a stage.
You can also find extra hidden paints in the stages that serve as more powerful perks!
The game is naturally pretty tough, melee combat in a Megaman style game makes things pretty difficult. But the game gives you a bunch of tools, such as the ones listed above, to help you!
I got my ass kicked for a bit before being able to tackle the challenges with confidence and speed.
Full of Style!
The story starts off a bit simple, you are Gravity Circuit™ and your allies, now turned rebels, are fighting on the side of the virus army and you have to stop them from destroying the planet.
You get bits of lore after defeating each robot master, but the bulk of the story is in the last third of the game.
Pretty cool lore too!
These are so cool!
Something I really like is that the game is full of style!
The artwork on display here is awesome, love to see stylized pixel art, and the animations are equally as great.
Characters are all sentai themed, which is pretty genius for a Megaman inspired game.
The OST is really good too, there’s some great tunes throughout the game. There’s even clever uses of music at the end, that I’ll let you discover for yourself.
It’s a pretty short game, I got almost everything in about 7 hours. Very replayable too!
This feels a bit familiar...
My only nitpicks for this game is that most of the perks you can equip are overshadowed and I barely used any of the new EX moves unlocked after defeating a boss stage. That last one might be just me though.
Go Play It!
This blog really sounds like an AD for this game, and I don’t really care.
I really liked it and I can’t wait to play the sequel next year!
I only learned of this game’s existence through a random Youtube recommendation on my feed about the trailer for the sequel. I went to check out the first game, only to be met with the “100% Off” sale tag. I had to check it out!
It felt like actual ROBBERY to get this for free!
(To repent for my actions of getting this game for free, I decided to buy the OST on Bandicamp.)
(The Deltarune Fanfic is the next blog!)
(Post blog edit: My dumbass confused EN with EX, they are EX moves not EN.)
(Post-Post blog edit: I'M EVEN MORE DUMB, IT'S EN NOT EX! EN MOVES, NOT "EX"!!!)
